¿Reciben orientación profesional los estudiantes que ingresan a la carrera de Sistemas de Información en Salud? / Is career guidance provided to students starting Health Information Systems studies?

La selección de una carrera u oficio constituye un momento trascendental en la vida de cualquier joven y su familia, pues de esto dependerá en buena medida su futuro. La orientación profesional ocupa un lugar vital en la enseñanza media y continúa en la propia formación profesional. Este trabajo se propuso valorar la orientación profesional recibida por los estudiantes que ingresaron a la carrera de Sistemas de Información en Salud en el curso 2018-2019 y proponer un sistema de acciones que permita mejorar la orientación profesional a los jóvenes. El diagnóstico aplicado a los estudiantes de nuevo ingreso en cuanto a la información que habían recibido sobre la especialidad, el porqué de su selección, sus motivaciones y los deseos profesionales, permite afirmar que no poseían una buena orientación preprofesional. Las principales motivaciones para escoger la carrera de Sistemas de Información en Salud apuntaban a factores no acordes con la esencia de la especialidad y respondían a coyunturas no relacionadas en lo fundamental con los intereses, necesidades y amor por la profesión de las ciencias médicas y de la salud(AU)

Selecting a career or trade is a crucial step in the life of young people and their families, for their future will greatly depend on the choice they make. Career guidance plays a vital role in high school and goes on into professional training. The purpose of the study was to assess the career guidance received by students starting Health Information Systems studies in the school year 2018-2019, and propose a system of actions to improve the counseling provided to young people. Diagnostic assessment of freshmen in terms of the information they had received about the specialty, the reasons for their choice, their motivations and their professional expectations, revealed that the guidance they had received was not satisfactory. The main motivations to choose Health Information Systems studies had to do with factors not in keeping with the essence of the specialty, and responded to circumstances essentially unrelated to the interests, needs and love for medical and health sciences(AU)

El desarrollo sociohumanista de los profesionales de la Salud / The sociohumanist development of the professionals of the Health

Se presentan resultados parciales del "Proyecto Investigativo Institucional para el desarrollo sociohumanista de los profesionales de salud" que se despliega en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Guantánamo desde el año 2016. Los procedimientos seguidos se corresponden con los de una investigación cualitativa en tanto permitieron caracterizar el estado de la educación sociohumanista en profesionales de la salud que se forman en la institución y el nivel de desarrollo de competencia sociohumanista en ese proceso. Mediante la investigación bibliográfica se precisan sus definiciones, referentes teóricos y las tendencias que sigue la educación médica contemporánea mientras que la aplicación de otros métodos de investigación posibilitó establecer los elementos característicos, así como las dimensiones de su desarrollo en los profesionales de la salud. A partir de estas informaciones primarias, se cumplió el objetivo de diseñar la estrategia didáctica que favorezca, mediante un sistema de acciones, la aplicación del enfoque educativo sociohumanista en el contexto de la superación profesional orientada al logro de competencia sociohumanista en el modo de actuación de los profesionales de la salud que beneficie la calidad de su servicio.

Partial results of the are presented "I Project Investigative Institutional for the sociohumanist development of the professionals of health" that spreads in the University of Medical Sciences of Guantánamo from the year 2016. The followed procedures belong together with those of a qualitative investigation as long as they allowed to characterize the state of the sociohumanist education in professionals of the health that are formed in the institution and the level of development of sociohumanist competence in that process. By means of the bibliographical investigation they are necessary their definitions, relating theoretical and the tendencies that it follows the contemporary medical education while the application of other investigation methods facilitated to establish the characteristic elements, as well as the dimensions of its development in the professionals of the health. Starting from these primary informations, the objective was completed of designing the didactic strategy that it favored, by means of a system of actions, the application of the focus sociohumanist educational in the context of the professional superation guided to the achievement of sociohumanist competence in the way of the professionals' of the health performance that benefits the quality of its service.

Sistema de acciones para la prevención de la neurotoxoplasmosis en personas con VIH y SIDA / System of actions to prevent neurotoxoplasmosis in persons with HIV and AIDS

La neurotoxoplasmosis está asociada a la inmunodeficiencia y su expresión es mayoritariamente entre personas con VIH y SIDA, es la infección oportunista que con mayor frecuencia afecta el sistema nervioso en personas inmunodeprimidas por lo que todo acercamiento a la prevención desde la metodología de pares permite la reducción de riesgos y la reducción de daños. Se desarrolló un sistema de acciones para la prevención de la neurotoxoplasmosis en personas con VIH y SIDA. Se describe la etapa de capacitación de capacitadores, que se inició con un diagnóstico de actitudes basada en los conocimientos y prácticas que indican la percepción de riesgo a la infección por Toxoplasma gondii. Las personas con VIH que se formaron como capacitadores tienen actitudes positivas para reconocerse en riesgo ante la neurotoxoplasmosis como enfermedad oportunista y disponerse a multiplicar el aprendizaje pues accionaron como educadores pares. La implementación de las tres primeras etapas del sistema de acciones por parte de los voluntarios profesionalizados en el tema facilita las acciones de los profesionales de salud en el camino para la prevención secundaria y terciaria. El propósito de desarrollar un sistema de acciones para la prevención primaria, detección temprana y tratamiento oportuno de la neurotoxoplasmosis en personas con VIH y SIDA se logró a través de representantes de equipos de ayuda mutua del país. Resultó de gran valor identificar las actitudes ante la neurotoxoplasmosis como enfermedad oportunista en personas con VIH y SIDA, todo lo que facilita el camino a la prevención secundaria a través de la terapéutica específica.

Neurotoxoplasmosis is associated to immunodeficiency and it expresses mainly in persons with HIV and AIDS; it is the opportunistic infection that more frequently affects the nervous system in inmunodepressed persons so any approach to its prevention from the methodology of pairs allows decreasing risks and damages. We developed a system of actions for preventing neurotoxoplasmosis in persons with HIV and AIDS. We describe the capacitation of trainers which began with the diagnosis of attitudes based in knowledge and practices indicating the risk perception of the Toxoplasma gondii infection. Persons with HIV formed as trainers have positive attitudes for recognizing the risk of neurotoxoplasmosis as opportunistic disease and being ready to multiply knowledge because they acted as pair educators. The implementation of the three first stages of the action system by volunteers professionalized in the theme facilitates the health professionals’ actions in the way for the secondary and tertiary prevention. The purpose of developing a system of actions for the neurotoxoplasmosis primary prevention, early detection and opportune treatment in persons with HIV and AIDS was achieved through representers of the mutual help teams of the country. Identifying attitudes toward neurotoxoplasmosis as opportunistic disease in persons with HIV and AIDS was of great value, as it makes easy the way to the secondary prevention through the specific therapeutic.

Sistema de acciones para fortalecer la responsabilidad en el Centro Provincial de Información de Ciencias Médicas de Camagüey / System of actions to strengthen responsibility at Camagüey Provincial Medical Sciences Information Center

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en el Centro Provincial de Información de Ciencias Médicas de Camagüey, entre septiembre de 2011 y junio de 2012, con el objetivo de diseñar un sistema de acciones que contribuyera a fortalecer la responsabilidad como valor moral. Para evaluar su comportamiento a nivel institucional se aplicaron la encuesta y la observación. Los resultados de este análisis se procesaron según el método de ranqueo para dar prioridad a las acciones. Los datos se tabularon por el método estadístico porcentual. La valoración del sistema se realizó por un grupo nominal de especialistas. Su elaboración contribuirá al fortalecimiento del valor responsabilidad en los profesionales de la información de acuerdo con los requerimientos actuales de la sociedad cubana y la prestación de servicios de excelencia

A descriptive study was conducted at Camagüey Provincial Medical Sciences Information Center from September 2011 to June 2012, with the purpose of designing a system of actions aimed at strengthening responsibility as a moral value. The status of responsibility at institutional level was evaluated by means of surveys and observation techniques. The results of this analysis were processed using the ranking method to prioritize the actions. The data were tabulated with the percentage statistical method. The system was evaluated by a nominal group of specialists. Development of the system will contribute to strengthening the value responsibility among information professionals in keeping with the current requirements of Cuban society and the purpose of rendering services of excellence
