RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of TCM external treatment for alopecia areata, and to investigate the regularity of prescription selection and medicine use. METHODS:Retrieved from PubMed,EMBase, Cochrane Library,CBM and CNKI,RCTs about TCM external treatment(trial group)vs. routine regimen(control group)in the treatment of alopecia areata were included. The qualities of included studies were evaluated with modified Jadad scale after literature screening and data extraction. Meta-analysis was conducted by using Rev Man 5.3 statistical software. Frequency statistics and ingredient analysis were conduced among included prescriptions. RESULTS:A total of 21 RCTs were included, involving 2 510 patients. Meta-analysis showed that total response rate of trial group was significantly higher than that of control group, with statistical significance [OR=4.14,95%CI(3.04,5.65),P<0.001]. There was no statistical difference in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups [OR=1.66,95%CI(3.04,5.65),P=0.48]. A total of 20 prescriptions among included 21 RCTs were included after the repeated prescriptions were deleted. Above prescriptions were analyzed statistically;there were 53 ingredients in 20 prescriptions, and the sum of use frequency for those ingredients was 138.The ingredients with high use frequency were Carthamus tinctorius,Platycladus orientalis,Salvia miltiorrhiza;main types of medicines were restoring vital energy, relieving exterior disorder, invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis, etc. CONCLUSIONS:TCM external treatment shows good therapeutic efficacy and safety. Medicines are mainly used for restoring vital energy, invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of TCM external treatment combined with Dasangju Mixture in treating mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) in children. Methods One hundred patients with MPP were randomly divided into control group and treatment group by parallel design, with 50 patients in each group. Patients in control group orally took azithromycin combined with other symptomatic treatment when necessary, 7 d for a course and continuously for 3 courses. Based on the treatment for control group, patients in treatment group were added with TCM external treatment (BL13 and RN17) combined with Dasangju Mixture, while azithromycin was sequentially used just for 2 courses. Other types of treatment lasted for 3 courses. The improvement time of symptoms and signs of the patients were recorded and the therapeutic effects of the two groups were evaluated. Moreover, the serum concentrations of mycoplasma pneumoniae-immune gloulin M (MP-IgM) were determined before and after treatment on the 1st and 21st days. Results The improvent time of fever, and cough and lung sign of the treatment group were more obviously shortened than the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 96.0% (48/50) in observation group and 74.0% (37/50) in control group, with statistical significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). After treatment, the negative rate of the serum concentration of MP-IgM in the treatment group was 82%, and that of the control group was 58%, with statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion TCM external treatment combined with Dasangju Mixture can not only significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of MPP children patients, but also shorten the disease course, and the efficacy was significant. Meanwhile it can reduce the course and side effects of azithromycin, which provides reference to the administration of antibiotics in children.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and ADR of blue and red light phototherapy combined with TCM exter-nal treatment in the treatment of ecthyma. METHODS:64 ecthyma patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group by number with 32 cases in each group. Both groups were provided with intravenous drip of Erigeron injection and Shenxiong glucose injection to improve limb microcirculation. The experimental group was also provided with blue and red light phototherapy (blue light 20 min+ red light 20 min) combined with TCM external treatment once a day;while control group was provided with only TCM external treatment once a day. After 1 month treatment, clinical efficacy and healing time of 2 groups were observed and compared, and ADR monitoring was conducted. RESULTS:The cure rate of experimental group was 78.13%, and the total effective rate was 96.88%,which were higher than those of control group(40.63% and 81.25%),there was statisti-cally significant difference (P<0.05). The average healing time of experimental group was (18.75 ± 5.97) d,and that of control group was(27.12 ± 6.67)d;there was statistically significant difference between 2 groups (P<0.05). No ADR was found in 2 groups during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Blue and red light phototherapy combined with TCM external treatment in the treatment of ecthyma has the remarkable curative effect and good safety, and shorten the healing time.

RESUMEN

Objective To discuss the treatment action and mechanism of Wenjing Tongluo Formula on oxaliplatin-induced perpheral neurotoxicity in rats. Methods Intraperitoneal injection was used to inject oxaliplatin 4 mg/kg to establish oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neurotoxicity rat models. Female Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group, and TCM group. TCM group was given Wenjing Tongluo Formula to soak rats’ limbs and tails. Rats in the model group were soaked with deionized water for comparison. Rats in the normal group received intraperitoneal injection with 5%glucose. Algesia hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis were detected under the mechanical stimulation and temperature. Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of GFAP in L4-L6 spinal dorsal horn of rats. Explore the level of GLT-1 in L4-L6 dorsal root ganglia by RT-PCR. Results Rats in model group showed obvious behavioral changes compared with normal group (P<0.05);Rats in the TCM group improved in behavioristics compared with model group (P<0.01);number of positive cells in GFAP of rats in the model group increased compared with normal group (P<0.05);the increase in the TCM group was not obvious. Compared with normal group, astrocytes in spinal dorsal horn of model group were enlarged, protuberances increased, became coarse, and GLT-1 mRNA is decreased (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with model group, active cells and protuberances in the TCM group decreased (P<0.01), GLT-1 mRNA is increased (P<0.01). Conclusion Wenjing Tongluo Formula can improve behavioral changes of model rats under temperature and mechanical stimulation, probably related to harmful signal transmission induced by inhibition of astrocyte in spinal dorsal horn.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Huoxue Bitong Plaster on lumbar osteoarthritis with blood stasis and cold-dampness blocking collaterals syndrome. Methods Totally 120 patients were randomly divided into treatment group (60 cases) and control group (60 cases). Huoxue Bitong Plaster was applied externally in the treatment group, while Goupigao Plaster was used externally in the control group, once a day, for two weeks. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by observing TCM symptom scores, VAS, Oswestry dability index (ODI), and onset time in both groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate was 86.67%(52/60) in treatment group, and 85.00% (51/60) in the control group, with no statistical significance (P>0.05). TCM symptom scores of both groups decreased after treatment (P<0.05). For the effect of relieving back pain and morning stiffness, the treatment group was superior to control group (P<0.05). For the effect of relieving waist heaviness, the control group was better than the treatment group (P<0.05). Besides, VAS and ODI of the treatment group were lower than the control group after treatment (P<0.05). The onset time of lightening back pain, morning stiffness in the treatment group was quicker than control group (P<0.05). For waist heaviness, the onset time in control group was quicker than treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusion Huoxue Bitong Plaster has good efficacy for lumbar osteoarthritis with blood stasis and cold-dampness blocking collaterals syndrome.
