RESUMEN

Death by suicide is now the third most frequent cause of death in the population 15-44 years old. This self-inflicted death has meaning that requires understanding and attention. The objective of this study was to understand the experiences and feelings of cocaine users within the relationship of addiction and suicide. This is a qualitative study conducted from August 2012 to February 2013. The 18 individuals who met criteria for a depressive episode responded to the semi-structured interview for suicide risk, the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview. During the analysis of the narrated content, there were three categories established: previous history, previous suicide attempts, and depression. The results were evaluated seeking to reflect and understand the experiences exposed by users. RESUMEN

The aim of this study was to describe the relationship between playing sports and substance use in high school, students. A search was conducted, without restrictions by date, in the main health databases saœde (Cochrane, LILACS, PsycINFO, PubMed, SciELO and Scopus). Analysis showed that playing sports can be both a risk and a protection factor concerning substance use, depending on a series of variables. Among these the following stand out: gender, type of sport, socio-cultural environment and motivation, both to play sport and to take the substance. Planning preventative actions that involve sport should consider the various factors involved, so as to encourage prevention of drug consumption among adolescents...

RESUMEN

The aim of this study was to discover trajectories of use as well as consumption patterns among those who use crack. This is a descriptive-exploratory study with a qualitative approach, conducted with 14 individuals monitored by the Reduced Harm Strategy in the city of Pelotas/RS, using a semi-structured interview. The results indicate that the majority of users' first contact with illegal drugs was with marihuana and other forms of cocaine, before choosing crack as their drug of choice. RESUMEN

The purpose of this study was to identify the biopsychosocial and spiritual effects of crack use during pregnancy. This is a descriptive study with qualitative approach, it is a case report of a 33 year-old patient, multiparous, postpartum and used crack until the sixth month of pregnancy. After data collection and analysis, disorders were classified and placed in three thematic categories, which are: biological effects, psychological repercussions, and social and spiritual repercussions.
