RESUMEN

@#Autonomic dysreflexia (AD) is an emergency commonly happened in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) above T6 and especially in chronic SCI patients. AD is usually triggered by stimuli below the injury level. Sudden elevated blood pressure is the main clinical symptom and cardiovascular and/or cerebral complication even death if effective treatments are not provided. Mechanisms contributed to AD possibly are dysfunction of supra spinal control, plastic changes of neurons and receptors. Preventive measures and managements such as removal of risk factor, adjustment of body position, and pharmacological treatment are now in use.

RESUMEN

@#Post-stroke aphasia is a common and disabling disease. The factors affecting the recovery of language function in aphasic patients include the location and size of injury, type of aphasia, and severity of stroke, etc. The individual factors include gender, age, handedness, educational level, and others. The mechanisms of recovery of language function include blood flow reperfusion, recovery of neural function linkage, disconnection of resuscitation structure and reorganization of language network functions. The right hemisphere may hinder the recovery of aphasia, and non-verbal-specific brain networks may relate to the occurrence of aphasia. For the treatment, in addition to classical speech-language therapy, non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation, are more and more used clinically; Other treatments include drugs, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.

RESUMEN

ABSTRACT Introduction: The frequency of gastric neuroendocrine tumors is increasing. Reasons are the popularization of endoscopy and its technical refinements. Despite this, they are still poorly understood and have complex management. Aim: Update the knowledge on gastric neuroendocrine tumor and expose the future perspectives on the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Method: Literature review using the following databases: Medline/PubMed, Cochrane Library and SciELO. Search terms were: gastric carcinoid, gastric neuroendocrine tumor, treatment. From the selected articles, 38 were included in this review. Results: Gastric neuroendocrine tumors are classified in four clinical types. Correct identification of the clinical type and histological grade is fundamental, since treatment varies accordingly and defines survival. Conclusion: Gastric neuroendocrine tumors comprise different subtypes with distinct management and prognosis. Correct identification allows for a tailored therapy. Further studies will clarify the diseases biology and improve its treatment.

A identificação correta do tipo clínico e grau histológico é fundamental, pois a conduta é variável e define a sobrevida. Conclusão: Tumor neuroendócrino gástrico possui diferentes subtipos com tratamento e prognóstico distintos. A identificação correta destes e seu entendimento permite o tratamento individualizado. Estudos futuros ajudarão a esclarecer a biologia desta doença e melhorar o tratamento.

RESUMEN

@# The effects of subclinical epileptiform discharges (SEDs) on children with cerebral palsy cannot be ignored. Data from neurodevelopmental clinic studies showed that the overall incidence of SEDs in cerebral palsy was 18%~40%, with the highest in spastic hemiplegia and diplegia. The major pattern of SEDs was focal and multifocal, and was usually found in centro-temporal and parietal regions. The cortex impairment and other complications were risk factors related to SEDs in cerebral palsy. Paroxysmal or frequent long-time SEDs, with the Results of transient or chronic cognitive impairment, have been found to lead to subsequent death of cortical neurons of cerebral palsy patients thereby worsening their prognosis. Valproic acid (VPA), benzodiazepines (BZs) and lamotrigine (LTG) have a role in inhibiting SEDs, while adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and glucocorticoids have a great role in it.

RESUMEN

@#Since upper limb function disorder exists in many children with cerebral palsy, it is improtant to assess and treat the disorder of the upper extremities. The common assessments include muscle tone, range of motion and upper extremity assessment. The goal of therapy is to decrease the muscle tone and increase the range of motion. In addition we should emphasize the functional ability and purposeful skill of the upper extremity.
