RESUMEN

Yiyi Fuzi Baijiang Powder(YFBP), originating from Synopsis of the Golden Chamber, is a classic prescription composed of Coicis Semen, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, and Patriniae Herba for the treatment of abscesses and pus discharge. This article presented a systematic analysis of the clinical application of YFBP, including the indicated diseases, the number of cases, efficacy, dosage, administration methods, and compatibility with other drugs. The analysis reveals that YFBP has a wide range of clinical applications. It is commonly used, often with modifications or in combination with western medicine, for diseases in the fields of gastroente-rology, gynecology, urology, dermatology, and others. And most of the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) evidence involved in these diseases are damp-heat evudence. The prescription shows rich variations in clinical administration methods, and most of which are the treatment of aqueous decoction of it. The therapeutic effect is also significant, and the total effective rate of clinical treatment is re-latively high. Additionally, this article summarized the pharmacological research on YFBP and found that it possessed various pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, and immune-modulating properties. Finally, correlation analysis was conducted on the main diseases, TCM types, prescription doses, pharmacological effects and action targets of YFBP, which to show the relationship between these five aspects in a visual form, reflecting the relationship between its clinical application and modern pharmacological effects. These findings provide a reference basis for further development and research on YFBP.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Yiyi Fuzi Baijiang powder for treatment of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) accompanied by yang-deficiency of spleen and kidney. Methods Eighty patients with UC admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from January 2012 to December 2015 were enrolled, and they were divided into an integrated TCM and western medicine group (combined group) and a control group by random number table method, 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated by normal saline 100 mL with dexamethasone 10 mg enema, whilethe combined group was given Yiyi Fuzi Baijiang powder 100 mL (coix seed 30 g, aconitum carmichaeli debx 6 g, herba patriniae 15 g, radix paeoniae alba 15 g, frankincense 6 g, myrrh 6 g, glycyrrhiza uralensis 6 g) combined with dexamethasone 10 mg enema, one therapeutic course was 10 days, and after 3 courses, the clinical efficacy was observed in the two groups. The differences of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), the number of red blood cell (RBC) and white blood cell (WBC) positive patients in stool routine were compared before and after treatment, and the clinical therapeutic effects were observed in the two groups. Results After treatment, the ESR was reduced in both groups compared to that before treatment, the numbers of RBC and WBC positive patients in stool routine were decreased in both group compared to those before treatment, and the degrees of changes were more significant in combined group than those in the control group [ESR (mm/1 h): 15.00±3.07 vs. 20.55±3.87, the number of RBC positive patients: 7 cases vs. 21 cases, the number of WBC positive patients: 14 cases vs. 21 cases, allP < 0.05]. The total effective rate of combined group was significantly higher than that of the control group [92.5% (37/40) vs. 75.0% (30/40),P < 0.05].Conclusion The clinical effect of Yiyi Fuzi Baijiang powder combined with dexamethasone enema was superior to that simply using hormone enema therapy for treatment of patients with UC accompanied by yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, this combined method is simple, and its curative effect is definite.

RESUMEN

Objective Evaluation of enema application of Yiyi-Fuzi-Baijiang powder combined with oral sulfasalazine enteric-coated tablets in treating ulcerative colitis. Methods The patients with ulcerative colitis were randomly divided into 2 groups, 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with sulfasalazine, and the observation group with sulfasalazine and Yiyi-Fuzi-Baijiang powder. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. ELISA method was used to detect the levels of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α. The changes of disease activity index (Sutherland DAI) were observed before and after treatment, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results After treatment, the Sutherland DAI (3.89 ± 0.91 vs. 4.91 ± 1.08, t=3.082) in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P=0.042). The level of TNF-α (20.82 ± 4.31 ng/L vs. 26.51 ± 5.25 ng/L, t=3.602), IL-6 (31.73 ± 4.82 ng/L vs. 40.18 ± 5.63 ng/L, t=3.817), and IL-8 (35.39 ± 4.62 ng/L vs. 40.59 ± 5.35 ng/L, t=3.341) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total efficiency of observation group was 92.9% (39/42), and the control group was 73.8% (31/42). There was significant difference between the two groups (χ2=4.200, P=0.040). Conclusions The Yiyi-Fuzi-Baijiang powder combined with sulfasalazine could relieve the clinical symptoms of ulcerative colitis patients with spleen-kidney yang deficiency, and inhibition inflammatory response.
