RESUMEN
This is a report on the contribution and characteristic of MG, antigen recognized by gastric cancer monoclonal antibody with immunohistochemical staining in gastric cancer, and its vicinal and distant tissues. There is a positive rate of 84% (42/50) in gastric cancer, and 32% (16/50) in the epithelia adjacent to the cancer, where existed 56% of dysplasia and 40% of metaplasia, and no reaction in the tissues without dysplasia or metaplasia. But there was 4% of weak positive staining in normal tissues that were more than 5 cm beyond the. cancer. We conclude that tumor-associated antigen MG, is a useful marker for diagnosis of gastric cancer and detection of precancerous condition.
