RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE To compare the components of volatile oil from Gardenia jasminoides and their liver protective effect before and after stir-frying with wine. METHODS Steam distillation was used to exact the volatile oil from G. jasminoides and wine stir-fried G. jasminoides. The components of volatile oil were identified by GC-MS method, and the relative mass fraction of each component was calculated by peak area normalization method. The rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group, positive control group (bifendate suspension 35 mg/kg), G. jasminoides low-dose and high-dose groups [1, 2 g/kg (calculated by crude drug)] and wine stir-fried G. jasminoides low-dose and high-dose groups [1, 2 g/kg (calculated by crude drug)] with 10 rats in each group. Liver injury model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 40% carbon tetrachloride in rats of each group after continuous intragastric administration of corresponding drug solution for 7 days. The status, serum biochemical indexes, liver biochemical indexes and liver pathological sections of rats in each group were compared. RESULTS Twenty-three volatile oil components from G. jasminoides and 25 volatile oil components from wine stir-fried G. jasminoides were identified; there were 18 common volatile oil components, of which the contents of 17 common components were decreased, while the content of one common component was increased due to stir-frying with wine. Compared with model group, the symptoms of depression and liver cell damage of rats in each administration group were improved to varying degrees; the serum levels of adenosine deaminase, alanine transaminase, aspartate transaminase, direct bilirubin, lactate dehydrogenase, prealbumin, total bile acid and total bilirubin were significantly decreased, while the total protein level was significantly increased; the level of malondialdehyde in liver tissue was significantly decreased, there were statistical significance (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS During stir-frying with wine, the contents of 17 volatile oil components are decreased, while the content of one volatile oil component is increased. Wine stir-fried G. jasminoides shows liver protective effect. .

RESUMEN

Dahuang Lidan Pian contains Rheum palmatum, Gymnadenia conopsea and Phyllanthus emblica, which has a significant effect in the treatment of alcoholic fatty liver, cholestasis and cholecystitis. The efficacy of the formula in traditional Chinese medicine was clearing heat and promoting diuresis, removing dampness, detoxifying and relieving jaundice. These three herbs are widely used in the traditional Chinese medicine, Mongolian medicine and Tibetan medicine. Therefore, the formula was a representative subject in the researches for ethno-drugs. In this research, computer aided drug design methods were used to predict the action targets of the formula. Protein interaction network (PIN) was then constructed, and molecular complex detection (MCODE) clustering algorithm was used to obtain the modules of the formula, so as to analyze the potential action mechanism. The results showed that Rh. palmatum and P. emblica may have a synergistic protective effect on liver function by acting on analogous targets and pathways. G. conopsea regulated metabolic balance of nutrients to strengthen physical fitness. The research explained the liver-protecting mechanism of Dahuang Lidan Pian based on the PIN analysis on molecular network, which provides an reference for the further study of Dahuang Lidan Pian.

RESUMEN

AIM To compare liver-protective and anti-inflammatory effects of extracts from root, stem, leaf, and flower of Gentiana rigescens.METHODS The mouse model for the immunological liver injury induced by Concanavalin A,and mouse ear swelling model for inflammation caused by dimethylbenzene were used for the comparison of the liver-protective or anti-inflammatory effects of four parts individually.RESULTS Four aqueous extracts of Gentiana rigescens showed the dose-dependent decrease in the activity of ALT and AST in serum and liver index, and alleviation of hepatic tissue injury induced by Concanavalin A in mice. The effects of the extracts from the leaf and root were better than those from the stem and flower. These extracts presented dose-dependent inhibition against the ear swelling caused by dimethylbenzene in mice. The effects of the extracts from the leaf and stem were better than those from the flower and root.CONCLUSION Extracts from the root and leaf of G.rigescens have liver-protective effect, and parts from the stem and leaf have anti-inflammatory effect.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE:To review the current situation and the trend of development of drugs for chronic hepatic diseases,so as to provide the information for rational use of these drugs METHODS:By using the methods of sequences of total sales volumn and DDDs,the main drugs for chronic hepatic diseases used in 8 hospitals of Xinxiang during the period 2001~2003 were analysed RESULTS & CONCLUSION:The total sales volumn and DDDs of the liver-protective drugs always occupied the front row of drugs for chronic hepatic diseases, and the use of compound glycyrrihizin(Stronger Neo-Minophagen C) is rapidly increasing

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze status quo of utilization of liver-protective medicines in our hospital. METHODS: Consumption sum and DDDs of liver-protective medicines were analyzed statistically in our hospital during 2004~2008. RESULTS: The proportion of consumption sum of liver-protective medicines in total was 21.09%. The main medicines was inosine to prevent antituberculosis drug-induced hepatic lesion during 2004~2005. The utilization of new and expensive liver-protective medicines was used more than before during 2006~2008. The consumption sum was increased greatly. CONCLUSION: The utilization of liver-protective medicines is rational and economical in the previous two years. But the price of used liver-protective medicines is higher than before during 2006~2008. So some interventions should be adopted to control the utilization of liver-protective medicines rationally and economically.
