RESUMEN

Purpose:To investigate the correlation between early postoperative metastasis with occult micrometastasis of mediastinal lymph nodes in patients with stageⅠa non small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC).Methods:Using RT PCR assay, detection of the expression of MUC1 mRNA was used to diagnose occult micrometastasis in mediastinal lymph nodes. All the patients underwent checked up at least once a year to detect early metastatic lesions after surgery, by means of CT scan of chest and brain, ultrasound examination of liver and adrenal glands, and bone scanning. The patients with and without occult nodal micrometastasis were divided into two different groups. Difference in early metastatic rate between two groups of patients was compared by ? 2 test, and odds ratio (OR) was calculated. Results:Occult nodal micrometastasis was diagnosed in sixteen patients (32.0%). Early metastatic rate (31.25%) in the patients with occult nodal micrometastasis was higher than that (5.88%) in the patients without occult nodal micrometastasis ( P

RESUMEN

Objective: To study the influence of micrometastasis in lymph node on the prognosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods: In 36 patients micrometastasis in pathologically negative lymph nodes were tested by immunohistochemical cytokeratin(CK) examination and the relationship between CK+ and survival time of the patients was analyzed. Results: The survival time(month) of CK+ and CK- patients was 36.76?6.91 and 47.47?11.35 respectively(P=0.002).Multivariate analysis of Logistic regression model showed that micrometastasis in lymph node (P=0.044)and histologic grade (P=0.040) were regarded as independently prognostic factors while clinical stage (P=0.236)did not. Conclusion: The detection of micrometastasis in the lymph nodes may serve as a supplement to the present staging system of OSCC. The prognosis of patients with micrometastasis is poorer than those without micrometastasis.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the reliability and sensitivity of detection of thyroid carcinoma lymph node micrometastasis with MUC1.Methods In 488 cases of thyroid disease,1% methylene blue 1.0-2.0mL was injected into the thyroid nodule or surrounding thyroid tissue 24hours before operation. The dye-stained lymph nodes were detected at operation and RT-PCR method was used to determine MCUI in the clinically blue-stained lymph nodes. Results The detection rate of the blue-stained lymph nodes in thyroid carcinoma was 93%,and in benign lesions was 0%.In the research group,80 cases were found to have blue-stained lymph nodes, the detection rate was 95% and was higher than the pathologr diagnostic rate which was 86%(P
