RESUMEN

Objective To explore the mediating effect of health belief on the relationship between health knowledge and health behavior among hypertensive patients with stroke. Methods The questionnaire of Stroke Knowledge Questionnaire (SKQ),Short Form Health Belief Model Scale (SF-HBMS)and health behavior scale for stroke patients (HBS-SP) were used to investigate the health knowledge, health belief and health behavior among 151 hypertensive stroke patients. The structural equation model was established using SPSS 17.0 and Mplus7.0 software. Results The total score of SKQ,SF-HBMS and HBS-SP were (86.23±.14.67),(4.26±0.54) and (3.01 ± 0.46).The Pearson r value for SKQ and SF-HBMS,SF-HBMS and HBS-SP,SKQ and HBS-SP were 0.516,0.603 and 0.449,respectively,P<0.01.Health knowledge had no direct effect on health behavior.but had an indirect effect through health belief=0.338 (P<0.01).The health knowledge has direct and positive effect on the health belief including perceived susceptibility, health motivation, and perceived benefit to health behaviors;the health belief of perceived seriousness to stroke has direct and positive effect on the health behavior, while perceived barrier has direct and negative effect on the health behavior, all P<0.05.Conclusion The health belief has mediator effect between health knowledge and health behavior among hypertensive stroke patients.Stroke education efforts should be targeted at not only health knowledge but also health belief in order to increase patients’health behavior so as to prevent secondary stroke.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between milk intake and prevalence rates of chronic diseases using KNHANES data, and the significance of the relationship was tested based on meditators, socioeconomic status (income, education), dietary behaviors (smoking, alcohol drinking, breakfast, and eating out), and physical activity (walking, medium, and high). METHODS: Using the 5(th) and 6(th) survey data of KNHANES, milk intake rates and presence of seven chronic diseases were summarized and analyzed by ANOVA for two groups of adult men and women as follows: hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, low HDL-cholesterol, diabetes, abdominal obesity, obesity, and metabolic syndrome. The dependent variables for the presence of seven chronic diseases regressed with socioeconomic, dietary behavior, and physical activity variables according to Logistic models. The dependent variables for milk intake using predictor variables of socioeconomic, dietary behaviors and physical activity were analyzed according to Logistic models. Finally, the significant socioeconomic, dietary behavior, and physical activity variables in the above model along with milk intake as a control variable or mediator variable regressed with significant chronic diseases according to Logistic models. RESULTS: Milk intake, socioeconomic status, dietary behaviors, and physical activity were significantly different among the two groups of adult men and women, which were also critical factors to the prevalence of chronic diseases. The dependent variable for prevalence of chronic diseases regressed with significant factors of socioeconomic status, dietary behavior, and physical activity variables according to chronic diseases using the control or mediator variable of milk intake and summarized as follows: For adult men, milk intake controlled the education effect on diabetes partly, alcohol on hypertension and hypertriglyceridemia, low HDL-cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, breakfast on metabolic syndrome, eating out on obesity, and medium physical activity on hypertriglyceridemia. For adult women, household income on hypertriglyceridemia, diabetes, abdominal obesity, education level on hypertension, alcohol drinking, eating out, and walking activity on abdominal obesity, alcohol, breakfast, eating out, walking activity on low HDL-cholesterol, and medium physical activity on hypertriglyceridemia and low HDL-cholesterol were partly controlled by milk intake. Other significant socioeconomic status, dietary behavior, and physical activity variables related to prevalence of chronic diseases were fully controlled or mediated by milk intake. CONCLUSION: This study shows that milk intake (daily more than 200 g) prevents chronic diseases such as hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, low HDL-cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, abdominal obesity, and metabolic syndrome.

RESUMEN

Objective To test the diathesis-stress component in the hopelessness theory and demonstrate the mediator effect of hopelessness in depression-generating process. Methods In the 6-month longitudinal study, latent growth curve model(LGM) was used in a sample of 269 Chinese undergraduates on the base of questionnaire investigation. Results The intercept for hopelessness depression had a significant association with the intercept for negative life events (path coefficient =0.48) and depressogenic attributional style (path coefficient=0.26).The slope for hopelessness depression had a significant association with the slope for negative life events (path coefficient=0.73). The complete mediator effect of hopelessness between depressogenic attributional style and the intercept for hopelessness depression was 0.143. The complete mediator effect of hopelessness between the slope for negative life events and the intercept for hopelessness depression was 0.131. The partial mediator effect of hopelessness between the intercept for negative life events and the intercept for hopelessness depression was 0.151.Conclusion Depressogenic attributional style interacted with the occurrence of negative events to predict the occurrence of hopelessness depression. Hopelessness made partial mediator effect on the hopelessness depression-generating process.

RESUMEN

Objective:To explore the relationship among procrastination behavior, meta -cognitive and emotion of university students. Methods:A total of 468 undergraduates from 4 universities were surveyed by GPS,PANAS and MCQ-30.Results:①The undergraduates from liberal arts colleges reported more procrastination behavior than those from science colleges.② Cognitive confidence, positive beliefs,uncontrollability/danger,tendency to control thoughts, and negative emotion positively correlated to procrastination behavior;cognitive self-consciousness and positively emotion negatively correlated to procrastination behavior.③ Cognitive confidence,uncontrollability/danger and negative emotion could positively predict procrastination behavior.④Negative emotion mediated the relationship between uncontrollability/danger and procrastination behavior. Conclusion:Uncontrollability and danger are a significant predicator of procrastination behavior, and negative emotion has a significant mediation effect on the relationship between uncontrollability/danger and procrastination behavior.
