Las máscaras filosófica-médicas de Goethe, en Fausto / Goethe's philosophical-medical masks, in Faust

Al empezar el siglo XXI, el sector de la salud se debate en una crisis ética-moral médica y, la sociedad, lastimada por la pandemia de violencia e impunidad jurídica, resiente una crisis del estado de derecho sin encontrar aún una respuesta científica ni humanística viable. El artículo, resultado de una investigación en la tragedia decimonónica de Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Fausto, demuestra la coincidencia de sujetos y objetos de la vida real con sujetos y objetos representados literariamente mediante la interpretación de los paradigmas, problemas, dilemas y casos ético-moral médicos identificados: dáimon, reflexión-soledad, libre albedrío, bien-mal, Eros, docta ignorancia, genes, epistemología, etiqueta médica, paternalismo, anatomía de la personalidad, hipocratismo, voluntad, buen humor, peste bubónica. Fausto puede ser una senda nueva para el cambio –hacia el bien común– del galeno si, trazada por su voluntad y recuperando los objetos reales representados, decide reflexionar libre y solitariamente sobre su ejercicio profesional, el saber médico y la relación médicopaciente.

At the beginning of the XXI century the health profession is engaged in a medical ethical and moral crisis and society, hurt by the pandemic of violence and impunity, feels the effect of a state of legal crisis unable to find a viable scientific or humanistic answer. This manuscript, is the result of an investigation into the Johann Wolfgang Goethe's tragedy of the nineteenth century, Faust. It demonstrates the coincidence of real life subjects and objects with literary subjects and objects represented, by means of the interpretation of the paradigms, problems, dilemmas and identified cases of medical ethical-morals: dáimon, reflection-solitude, free will, good-evil, Eros, learned ignorance, genes, epistemology, medical etiquette, paternalism, anatomy of the personality, Hyppocratism, will, good sense of humor, bubonic plague. Faust can be construed as a new path for change--towards the common good--of the physician if traced by their will and recovering the represented real objects, decides to meditate free and lonely on its professional exercise, medical knowledge and the doctor-patient relationship.

Ética médica en la literatura del siglo XIX / Medical Ethics in the 19th Century Literature

Desde el siglo XX la humanidad está asediada por violencia, crisis del estado de derecho e impunidad, circunstancias que se extendieron al profesional de la salud: crisis de la ética moral médica. Objetivo: Aparte del registro de casos clínicos y dilemas ético-morales en el siglo XIX, investigar testimonios histórico médicos y de ética, moral, etiqueta y educación médicas en la literatura decimonónica, considerándola también resguardo fidedigno de ellos. Procedimiento histórico-analítico: Casos de autonomía, beneficencia, justicia, no maleficencia y solidaridad en 122 obras literarias (84 autores, 20 países) decimonónicas, elegidas -según analistas reconocidos- porque muestran coincidencia y trascendencia de objetos de la vida real con objetos representados literariamente, tomándose para este artículo Axel Munthe y su Historia de San Michele. Hallazgos: Se identificaron -agrupándose en cuadros analítico estadísticos- fragmentos literarios sobre impronta científica técnica, ejercicio profesional, relación galeno paciente, casos clínicos, dilemas ético morales, etiqueta y educación médicas, confirmándose que la dimensión médica más valiosa tiene raíces, tronco y fronda humanistas. Conclusiones: Innovación aportada: enfocada histórica, médica y bioéticamente, la obra literaria pudiera ser otra vía analítica reflexiva para que el médico lector esteta del siglo XXI, recuperando los objetos reales representados, escogiera la senda de su superación e hiciera crecer su éthos y su contribución al bien común.

Since the last century, humanity has been besieged by violence, crisis of the state of law and impunity, everything extended to crisis of medical ethics moral. Objective: In addition to clinic cases and ethics and moral dilemmas in the nineteenth century, to investigate for testimonies of the history of medicine and medical ethics, moral, etiquette and education in the nineteenth century literature, considering this a trustworthy archive of them. Analytic-historical proceeding: Cases of autonomy, beneficence, justice, nonmaleficence and solidarity in 122 nineteenth century literary masterpieces (84 authors, 20 countries), selected -according to prestigious scholars-because they show coincidence and transcendence of real life objects with literary represented objects, taking for this article just Axel Munthe s Story of San Michele. Finds: Grouped in statistical analytic tables literary paragraphs about technical scientific matters, professional exercise, medical patient relation, clinic cases, moral ethics dilemmas and medical etiquette and education were identified corroborating that the more worthy medical dimension has humanistic roots. Conclusions: Innovating contribution: focused through the lens of the medicine history and bioethics, literary masterpieces might be the reflexive analytical way for the twenty-first century physician/reader, to recover the real objects represented, to choose his excelling path and to increase his éthos and contribution to the common welfare.
