ObjectiveTo establish a qualitative and quantitative analysis method for chemical constituents in Liu Junzitang(LJZT), and to clarify its material basis. MethodThe chemical constituents in LJZT were analyzed by ultra performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS), and the resulting compounds were identified by using databases, such as MassBank, PubChem, ChemSpider, Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analytical Platform(TCMSP), and by combining with relevant literature. UPLC was used to establish a quantitative method for analysis of 9 compounds in LJZT, including liquiritin, hesperidin, lobetyolin, liquiritigenin, glycyrrhizic acid, nobiletin, tangeretin, atractylenolide Ⅱ and Ⅰ. ResultBy combining the relevant literature, database and MS information, a total of 79 compounds were identified from LJZT, including 31 flavonoids, 15 terpenoids, 14 nitrogen-containing compounds, 6 phenylpropanoids, 6 organic acids and 7 other compounds. The established quantitative analytical method for the nine representative components showed good linearity within their respective linear ranges, and the precision, stability, reproducibility and recovery were in accordance with the requirements. The quantitative results showed that the contents of liquiritin, hesperidin, lobetyolin, liquiritigenin, glycyrrhizic acid, nobiletin, tangeretin, atractylenolide Ⅱ and Ⅰ in LJZT were 0.376 5, 2.602 1, 0.082 6, 0.128 1, 1.778 6, 0.015 7, 0.006 7, 0.030 4, 0.003 2 mg·g-1, respectively. ConclusionThe established method can quickly, sensitively and accurately analyze the chemical constituents in LJZT, clarify that the material basis of LJZT is mainly flavonoids, terpenoids and nitrogen-containing compounds, and simultaneously determine the contents of the 9 components, which can lay a foundation for the research on quality control, mechanism and clinical application of LJZT.

ABSTRACT: Even with advances related to the inclusion of the Target Group of Learners of Special Education in common classes, especially since 2000, there are still barriers that make the permanence of these students in learning environments difficult, such as the lack of teacher training and materials suited to their real needs. In this regard, this research aimed to gather and systematize, through a literature review, accessible Mathematics materials for students with visual impairments, in order to assist educators in preparing classes that are more accessible to this audience. Data analysis was performed using the Iramuteq software. In total, 26 works were found, including articles, Ph.D. dissertations and Master's thesis produced between 2012 and 2022, that developed and applied accessible materials to students with visual impairments in Basic Education. The results point out that, in addition to the low production of materials over the past years, the pieces of work are focused on the final grades of Elementary School and High School, and the most covered topics refer to the thematic units of Geometry and Algebra. Thus, a deficit of materials for Early Childhood Education and the initial grades of Elementary Education was identified, in addition to the little production for other Mathematics thematic units.

RESUMEN

Background & objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the strengths and weaknesses of the healthcare systems across the world. Many directives, guidelines and policies for pandemic control were laid down centrally for its implementation; however, its translation at the periphery needs to be analyzed for future planning and implementation of public health activities. Hence, the objectives of this study were to identify the challenges faced by frontline health managers in selected States in India during the pandemic with regard to implementation of the COVID-19-related policies at the district level and also to assess the challenges faced by the them in adapting the centrally laid down COVID-19 guidelines as per the local needs of the district. Methods: A qualitative study using the grounded theory approach was conducted among frontline district-level managers from eight different States belonging to the north, south, east and west zones of India. The districts across the country were selected based on their vulnerability index, and in-depth interviews were conducted among the frontline managers to assess the challenges faced by them in carrying out COVID-19 related activities. Recorded data were transcribed verbatim, manually coded and thematically analyzed. Results: Challenges faced in implementing quarantine rules were numerous, and it was also compounded by stigma attached with the disease. The need for adapting the guidelines as per local considerations, inclusion of components of financial management at local level, management of tribal and vulnerable populations and migrants in COVID context were strongly suggested. The need to increase human resource in general and specifically data managers and operators was quoted as definite requirement. Interpretation & conclusions: The COVID-19 guidelines provided by the Centre were found to be useful at district levels. However, there was a need to make some operational and administrative modifications in order to implement these guidelines locally and to ensure their acceptability.

RESUMEN

This study aimed to investigate the impact of ginger juice on chemical profile of Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex(MOC) when they were processed together. Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to quadrupole-orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry(UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS) was used for qualitative analysis of the chemical component of MOC samples before and after being processed with ginger juice. UPLC was performed to observe the content variation of eight main components in processed MOC. A total of 174 compounds were identified or tentatively deduced from processed and unprocessed MOC samples according to MS data obtained in positive and negative ion mode. After MOC was processed with ginger juice, the peak areas of most phenolics increased, while the peak areas of most phenylethanoid glycosides decreased; as for neolignans, oxyneolignans, other lignans and alkaloids, changes in the peak area were variable, and the peak areas of terpenoid-lignans varied little. Additionally, gingerols and diarylheptanoids were only detected in the processed MOC sample. The contents of syringin, magnoloside A, and magnoloside B decreased significantly in the processed MOC sample while no significant difference was observed in the contents of magnoflorine, magnocurarine, honokiol, obovatol, and magnolol. This study comprehensively explored the content variation of chemical components in processed and unprocessed MOC samples derived from different regions and with different tree ages using UPLC and UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS, and summarized the variation characteristics of various compounds. The results provide a data foundation for further research on pharmacodynamic substances of MOC processed with ginger juice.

RESUMEN

@#Facial symmetry evaluation has always been a hot topic of concern for doctors who engage in the study of facial beauty disciplines such as orthodontics, dentistry, and plastic surgery. Although scholars at home and abroad have carried out much research on the evaluation of facial symmetry with a variety of emerging technologies and methods, there is still a lack of unified standards for the evaluation of facial asymmetry due to the complexity of the content and methods and individual subjectivity. Facial asymmetry involves changes in the length, width and height of the face. It is a complex dental and maxillofacial malformation whose early identification and accurate evaluation are particularly important. Clinically, in addition to the necessary dental and maxillofacial examinations, it is also necessary to evaluate facial asymmetry with the help of corresponding auxiliary methods. This paper gives a summary of the commonly used three-dimensional evaluation methods. The evaluation methods of facial asymmetry can be divided into 5 categories: qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, dynamic analysis, mathematical analysis, and artificial intelligence analysis. After the analysis and summarization of the characteristics, advantages and limitations of each method in clinical applications, it is found that although these methods vary in accuracy, evaluation scope, diagnosis nature and calculation method, etc., the three-dimensional evaluation methods are more objective, more accurate and more convenient and will become the mainstream evaluation method for facial asymmetry with further development of three-dimensional measurement technologies.

RESUMEN

Objective To establish a rapid qualitative analysis method for volatile organic components in chemicals. Methods Headspace gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to qualitatively determine 19 volatile organic components, including benzene, 1,2-dichloroethane, and n-hexane, in chemicals. Different sample amounts, heating temperatures, heating times, and sample volumes were analyzed to assess their effects on detection results and optimize sampling conditions. Results Based on the set chromatography, the optimal sampling process of this method was as follows: 5.0 g sample in a 20.0 mL headspace bottle, incubated at 40 ℃ for 30 minutes in a constant-temperature drying incubator, and a 1.00 mL headspace gas injection. The within-run and between-run relative standard deviations of all components ranged from 0.00% to 21.05% and 0.00% to 33.33%, respectively. The samples stored in sealed glass containers were stable at room temperature for at least 60 days. Conclusion This method offers simplicity, good reproducibility, and stability, making it suitable for rapid qualitative analysis of volatile organic components in chemicals.

RESUMEN

ObjectiveTo develop a quality control method for the simultaneous determination of multiple active components in Nymphaeae Flos aiming at the problems of the single index for quality control and the relatively low overall quality control level. MethodUltra performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS)was used to identify and select the index components for quality control with the mobile phase of 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution(A)-acetonitrile(B)for gradient elution (0-2 min, 3%-8%B; 2-4 min, 8%-10%B; 4-13 min, 10%-15%B; 13-19 min, 15%-20%B; 19-26 min, 20%-45%B) at a flow rate of 0.4 mL·min-1, detection wavelength of 350 nm, electrospray ionization(ESI), negative ion scanning mode, ion source temperature of 120 ℃, scanning range of m/z 100-1 200, transmit collision energy of 6 eV for low-energy scanning and 25-50 eV for high-energy scanning. High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used to establish the quality control method for the simultaneous determination of multi-index components with the mobile phase of 0.2% phosphoric acid aqueous solution(A)-acetonitrile(B) for gradient elution(0-30 min, 12%-15%B; 30-60 min, 15%-22%B; 60-90 min, 22%-40%B)and detection wavelength of 350 nm. The preparation method of the test solution for content determination was refluxing extraction for 60 min with 80 times the amount of 70% methanol. ResultBy comparing the retention time, ultraviolet absorption characteristics, MS and MS/MS spectrometric signals in the samples with the reference substances, 8 active components with high contents, including brevifolincarboxylic acid, ellagic acid, rutin, nicotiflorin, astragalin, quercetin, quercetin-3-methylether and kaempferol, were identified qualitatively from Nymphaeae Flos, which were selected as the index components for quality control. Under the established HPLC conditions, the above 8 components could be well separated(resolution>1.5), and showed good linearity(r=0.999 9)between the concentration ranges of 1.99-99.6, 1.76-176, 1.52-75.8, 3.60-180, 0.964-96.4, 1.18-118, 1.94-96.8, 1.04-104 mg·L-1 and the peak areas, respectively. The detection limits of them were 10-49 μg·L-1, and the limits of quantitation were 34-164 μg·L-1. The average recoveries were 97.12%-103.1% with the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were 1.1%-2.2%. ConclusionA quality control method for simultaneous determination of the multiple active components in Nymphaeae Flos have been developed, which is simple, accurate and reproducible, and it can provide a scientific basis for the formulation of quality standard of this herb and lay a research foundation for the transformation of Uygur hospital preparations containing Nymphaeae Flos into new drugs.

RESUMEN

ObjectiveBased on ultra performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MSE) technique, we identified qualitatively the metabolites of aristolochic acid(AAs) in rat in order to analyze the metabolic differences between water extract of Aristolochiae fructus(AFE) and Aristolochic acid Ⅰ(AAⅠ). MethodSD rats were selected and administered AFE(110 g·kg-1·d-1) or AAⅠ(5 mg·kg-1·d-1) by oral for 5 days, respectively. Serum, urine and feces were collected after administration. Through sample pretreatment, ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 column(2.1 mm×100 mm, 1.7 μm) was used with the mobile phase of 0.01% formic acid methanol(A)-0.01% formic acid water(B, containing 5 mmol·L-1 ammonium acetate) for gradient elution(0-1 min, 10%B; 1-7 min, 10%-75%B; 7-7.2 min, 75%-95%B; 7.2-10.2 min, 95%B; 10.2-10.3 min, 95%-10%B; 10.3-12 min, 10%B) at a flow rate of 0.3 mL·min-1. Positive ion mode of electrospray ionization(ESI+) was performed in the scanning range of m/z 100-1 200. In combination with UNIFI 1.9.4.053 system, the Pathway-MSE was used to qualitatively analyze and identify the AAs prototype and related metabolites in biological samples(serum, urine and feces), and to compare the similarities and differences of metabolites in rats in the subacute toxicity test between AFE group and AAⅠ group. ResultCompared with AAⅠ group, 6, 10, 13 common metabolites and 14, 20, 30 unique metabolites were identified in biological samples(serum, urine and feces) of AFE group, respectively. Moreover, the main AAs components always followed the metabolic processes of demethylation, nitrate reduction and conjugation. Compared with common metabolites in AAⅠ group, prototype components of AAⅠ in serum and most metabolic derivatives of AAⅠ[AAⅠa, aristolochic lactam Ⅰ(ALⅠ)a, 7-OHALⅠ and its conjugated derivatives] in biological samples were significantly increased in AFE group(P<0.05, P<0.01), except that the metabolic amount of ALⅠ in feces of AFE group was remarkably lowed than that of AAⅠ group(P<0.01). In addition, a variety of special ALⅠ efflux derivatives were also identified in the urine and feces of the AFE group. ConclusionAlthough major AAs components in AFE all show similar metabolic rules as AAⅠ components in vivo, the coexistence of multiple AAs components in Aristolochiae Fructus may affect the metabolism of AAⅠ, and achieve the attenuating effect by increasing the metabolic effection of AAⅠ and ALⅠ.

ABSTRACT In order to establish minimum criteria related to social innovation in agricultural community organizations, qualitative research tools were used, including specialized searches and the use of programs for the analysis of bibliographic data (for example VOSviewer™), with the purpose of defining the elements related to management, governance, capacities, business model and sustainability for eight (8) community organizations of agricultural producers in the province of Sugamuxi, in the department of Boyacá, Colombia. It was possible to establish that some organizations of agricultural producers that carry out activities in the department of Boyacá are not integrally appropriating the elements of social innovation (at operational and managerial levels) and, consequently, there is a whole route of improvement to be developed with them to optimize the organizational efficiency indexes; in addition, the complexity of the subject is evident, given that the sustainability of social innovations will depend largely on the management of the organizations, where shared institutional agendas contextualized and adjusted to the territories are established. It is necessary to optimize the channels of participation in a joint manner between the State, the organizations, and the producers themselves to be able to dynamize processes, goals and the real scope of social innovation in light of the accelerated changes faced by the agribusiness producer in Colombia, related to market dynamics, access to resources and others.

ResultA total of 86, 96, 112 and 109 compounds including 73 common components were identified in Taihangju, Xiaobaiju, Xiaohuangju and Yejuhua, respectively. The contents of volatile components in Taihangju were significantly different from that of the control varieties. In which, the relative contents of α-thujone, eucalyptol and terpinen-4-ol were high in Taihangju, and eucalyptol, camphor and α-terpinyl acetate were the main compositions in the control varieties. In addition, 11 compounds were screened as characteristic components to distinguish Taihangju and the three control varieties by PCA and OPLS-DA, including main differential components of chamazulene and δ-cadinene. ConclusionThe main components of volatile oil in Taihangju includes alcohols, terpenes, ketones and esters with high medicinal value. The accuracy of qualitative analysis of volatile oil is improved by GC-MS combined with retention index method, which provides scientific reference for development and utilization of Taihangju.

RESUMEN

In recent years, cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) has brought great challenges to society and family, and has attracted increasing attention. Early detection and prevention of CSVD is of great significance. Retinal microvasculature is the only terminal blood vessel that can be observed in vivo and can be used as a portal for observation of brain small vessel-related diseases. In this paper, pathophysiology, quantitative and qualitative analysis were used to review the correlation between fundus lesions and CSVD, and further explore the future research direction.

RESUMEN

Objective@#Our goal is to identify an operational roadmap of core elements in the set-up of the Philippines General Hospital Child Protection Unit (PGH-CPU) established in 1997, and Child Protection Network (CPN) established in 2002. This roadmap will guide future improvement needs for PGH-CPU and CPN and could help accelerate the set-up of future child protection units or networks. @*Methods@#Using the 5 pillars of the Care Continuum for Child Maltreatment for categorization of deliverables — multidisciplinary intervention, training, governance, research/publication, and prevention — we identified operational deliverables (excluding patient numbers and outcomes) of the PGH-CPU and CPN. These were qualitatively analyzed to identify trends across the past 20-years and along 5 pillars of the Care Continuum. @*Results@#Identification and qualitative analyses of documented deliverables reveal pillar-specific and time-dependent trends across 5-year periods. This trend analysis identified the core elements central to the set-up of a CPU and reveal an operational roadmap in the set-up of CPUs in resource-constrained settings. @*Conclusions@#Case study review and qualitative analyses identify core elements that comprise a roadmap for need based prioritization in the set-up of CPUs/CPNs towards a comprehensive care continuum for child maltreatment. The 20-year experience in a developing nation context validates the roadmap

RESUMEN

Black carbon (BC) is the most strongly light-absorbing component of particulate matter and is largely emitted from the incomplete combustion of fossil and biomass fuels. It has a graphite structure with less carbonized, irregular, microcrystalline, and heterogeneous components, which is determined by pyrolysis conditions. BC can be absorbed by human body via inhalation or ingestion route and then be transported to various organs through the blood circulation system in human body. When crossing different biological barriers (such as blood-brain barrier, placenta barrier, and blood-testis barrier), BC may further act on these targets and induce various toxicities. This review first distinguished between BC and carbon black, and then introduced analytical methods of BC in various environmental samples: microscopic observation, chemothermal oxidation methods, other chemical oxidation methods, and molecular marker analysis. We summarized the principles, technical characteristics, and application to environmental samples of these methods, and discussed the ideas and perspectives of determination of BC in biological samples for human biomonitoring.
