RESUMEN

Objective@#This study aims to explore the effect of practice on the triage and acuity scale in the emergency department of Stomatological Hospital. @*Methods @#150 emergency patients admitted to the emergency department from April 2016 to July 2016 were randomly selected as the control group before the implementation of graded district diagnosis and treatment, and 150 emergency patients admitted from August 2016 to November 2016 were selected as the observation group after the implementation of graded diagnosis and treatment. The control group was treated with the traditional nursing treatment mode, and the observation group adopted the triage and acuity scale mode. The efficiency of treatment for the patients and the degree of satisfaction of the patients in terms of the nursing work was compared between the two groups (waiting time, checkup time, start treatment time). @*Results@#A comparison of the patients in the observation group and control group showed that the waiting time (min)(25.63 ± 8.75 vs. 35.57 ± 10.60, t = -8.52, P < 0.001), the time of accepting examination (min)(24.80 ± 7.90 vs. 39.23 ± 12.42, t = -12.01, P < 0.001) and the starting time of treatment (min)(28.67 ± 9.37 vs. 40.47 ± 10.86, t = -10.08, P < 0.001) were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group (P < 0.05). The degree of satisfaction with the nursing work for the patients in the observation group (96.67%) was higher than that of the control group (85.33%), and this difference was statistically significant (χ2=17.647, P=0.001). @*Conclusion@#The application of a triage and acuity scale in the diagnosis and treatment of stomatological emergency patients according to the severity and urgency of disease can ensure the priority of treatment in critically ill patients, the safe and efficient performance of emergency work, and improvements to the efficiency and quality of emergency medical services.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the secondary inventory appropriate to improve the stomatological hospital in cost control for medical consumables, standardizing patient charging, dynamic materials management, zero inventory and enhancing hospital economic benefit. Methods An enterprise resource planning (ERP) secondary inventory information system was developed to solve the problems in medical materials management of the stomatological hospital, and then went through practical trials in three departments to determine its efficacy and deficiencies. Results The information system facilitated cost control, standardized patient charging, and the trials in three departments showed the rate for material consumption was decreased greatly. The deficiencies still existed in the traceability, mobile App,manual input and etc. Conclusion The ERP secondary inventory information system reduces the running cost of the department, increases the hospital abilities in cost control and management, and thus is worthy promoting practically.

RESUMEN

Objective To improve hand hygiene compliance among healthcare workers (HCWs)in a stomatological hos-pital,and effectively reduce healthcare-associated infection(HAI)rate. Methods According to WHO hand hygiene guide-line and implementation scheme of hand hygiene,a systemic and step by step hand hygiene promotion plan was formulated, the plan was divided into five steps:full alert, baseline investigation, improvement, tracking, and retrospective analysis. Hand hygiene compliance among HCWs before and after the promotion of activities was analyzed and compared. Results Through hand hygiene promotion activities, the questionnaires showed that average score of knowledge about hand hygiene among HCWs enhanced from 58.33 to 77.40 (increased by 32.69%);the average hand hygiene compliance rate increased from 24.28%(59/243)to 49.81%(133/267),the difference was significant(χ2 =35.331,P =0.000);hand hy-giene status at five moments for hand hygiene improved markedly. Conclusion Hand hygiene promotion has a significant in-fluence in hand hygiene among HCWs in this stomatological hospital.
