The authors report one case of retro-costoxiphoid hernia. After a short anatomical and etiological account, the authors insist on the diagnostic elements the most important of which are X - ray of the chest which may be completed by barium enema. Surgical repair is usually indicated as the risk in low and most easily performed by an upper abdominal approach
