Résumé

The first case of AIDS in Morocco was declared in 1986 and since then the number of AIDS cases has steadily increased. According to the Ministry of Health, the cumulative number of AIDS cases in December 2002 was 1085. HIV in Morocco is acquired mainly through heterosexual intercourse. Individuals aged between 30 and 39 years and in the regions of Marrakech and Agadir have been the most affected. Monitoring of the trend of the epidemic by sentinel surveillance surveys indicates that Morocco is still a low prevalence zone, since prevalence among pregnant women is less than 1%. The estimated number of HIV-infected people in Morocco is around 15 000. It is not clear why the epidemic here has not evolved as it has in the sub-Saharan countries where it is spreading at an alarming rate. Late introduction of HIV-1 subtype B in Morocco, which is relatively less transmissible, circumcision and reduced risk behaviours of Muslims may explain this. Nonetheless, because prevalence has increased in recent years, unless preventive measures are strengthened, the HIV epidemic will worsen in Morocco

Résumé

We report here 22 cases of metastases at distance of cervical cancer which is in general considered as affection having a locoregional course which exceptionally diffuse beyond pelvis. We suggest some parameters which are certainly not unirocal in order to establish a relationship, with the more or less earlier appearance of these metastases. These parameters are as follows: age, parity, course stage, histological, type initial therapeutical management. The results are compared to those reported in the studies and reports related to the question. So we come to the conclusion that: This study confirms the frequency of metastase at distance of cervical cancer. - A good knowledge of the disease and the development of paraclinic means of exploitation lead a prier and effective discovery detection of metastatic sites

Résumé

Marginal keratitis [MK] is a frequently occurring disorder characterized by sterile infiltrates in the peripheral cornea [catarrhal ulcers], with or without associated epithelial defects, and with an increased incidence among patients affected with chronic staphylococcal blepharoconjunctivitis. We report here a case of marginal keratitis that became apparent after a seemingly innocuous excision of small sebaceous cysts on the lids, in a female suffereing from chronic blepharitis

Résumé

19 patients have consulted for statural delay of weight between June 1980 and December 1982. The age of the patients was between 13 and 20 years. They were between 1,30 m and 1,48 m tall. Their weight between 20 and 43 Kg. - The etiological checkup show: a constitutional statural delays with simple delay of puberty, a prolactine adenom, a turner syndrome, an insipid diabete, 2 hypophysis deficiencies, a chronic pyelonephrite by association of a syndrome of the unilateral junction to a bilateral vesicuo-ureteral reflux. 11 coeliac sicknesses whose positive.diagnostic, was established by jejunal biopsy and test to diet without gluten. Due to the predominance of this etiology and the presence In the patients of a radiological endocrine note [bone age less than the statural age] we did a complete endocrinien checkup on these patients with one test of TRH which showed an exaggerated repose in TSH. It seems to us that this THR test could be an important element for checkup and diagnostic of coeliac sickness

Rotavirus have been demonstrated in 17.6% of stools of 85 children suffering from acute diarrhea. The low incidence reported here can be explained by the season and by the age of the children

Résumé

The authors report 9 cases of persistent cholestatic hepatitis treated by corticoids. After having defined the selecting criterions of the different observations they note that the period of disappearing of the jaundice by cortico-therapy doesn't go beyond 30 days except for one patient for whom the jaundice was of an excessive long continuance. Biologically, the authors insist on the lack of normalisation of alkaline phosphatase while the other hepatic investigations become nearly normal

Résumé

Concerning two cases of a dominating form of ostreopetrosis revealed by an osteit of the mandible, the authors recall the main features of this disease and insist on the therapeutic difficulties that the osteit of the mandible arise and on the necessity to avoid it when the disease is known
