Résumé

Superficial soft tissue masses are frequently encountered in clinical practice. Sonographic imaging is a first-choice screening modality to confirm or exclude the presence of a soft tissue mass at a site of clinical concern. In this pictorial review, we demonstrate the sonographic and pathologic findings of superficial soft tissue masses including benign and malignant lesions, which can occur in the skin and subcutaneous layer.

Résumé

Small bowel hemangioma is a rare benign lesion, and it usually presents with bleeding or as a leading point of an intussusception. However, obstruction due to intramural hematoma by this lesion is unusual. Intramural hematoma of the duodenum is also an uncommon lesion, and it is usually a complication of blunt abdominal trauma in children and young adults. We present here a case of an intramural hematoma that was caused by spontaneous bleeding of a hemangioma, and this caused duodenal obstruction.

Résumé

A primary skin adenoid cystic carcinoma first described by Boggio in 1975, is one of the rarest type of eccrine sweat gland carcinoma. Histologically, a tumor with typical morphologic features closely resembles adenoid cystic carcinoma was found in other tissues but in the skin must be distinguished from aggressive basal cell carcinoma. The natural history of this tumor is not yet fully determined but suggests a long indolent and progressive course. We report a case of a 77-year-old male with a small skin nodule in the abdomen.

A child of malignant thymoma with invasion into the thoracic vertebra and spinal canal is reported. The tumor was originated from posterior mediastinum and involved posteriorly the D8, D9 vertebra resulting in paraparesis was improved. Computed tomography is mandatory in detecting the metastasis and evaluation of treatment.
