Résumé

One of the most important current health problems is hypertension. Many hypertensive patients die or become disabled every -year due to the complications of this disease. The first step in the treatment of this disease is lifestyle modification. Sweden massage as a kind of alternative medicine is a method for changing lifestyle. This study aimed to assess the effect of Sweden massage on blood pressure of hypertensive patients. In this semi-experimental study 30 individuals [15 males and 15 females] in the age range of 45-55 years were chosen with simple sampling method. Half an hour Sweden massage was performed in the mornings for back [17 minutes], neck [6 minutes], and chest [7 minutes] and blood pressure was measured and registered before and after the massage. The results showed that Sweden massage reduced the systolic and diastolic blood pressures of study subjects in each session [p<0.0001]. This study recommends using Sweden massage as a non-medical method of treatment in hypertensive patients without any adverse effect

Child abuse has different meanings in different societies however, there is no uniform definition for child abuse. The present study was conducted to survey the relationship between family, emotional, and social factors and child abuse in girl primary schools in Tehran. It was a case-control study. Initial data were obtained using child abuse, family, emotional and social questionnaires. Totally, 1300 primary girl students were randomly selected through districts 2,3,4,7 and 16. Then, 60 students scored higher the cut point were selected as the abused children [the case group] and 60 matched students scored below the cut point were served as the control group. Totally, 78.3% of abused children's fathers and 83.3% of their mothers were alive. These figures were 91.7% and 95% for non-abused children, respectively. Of abused children, 30% were abused with their mothers however, 33.3% of non-abused children were abused with their classmates. Meanwhile, 75% of abused children experienced severe physical violence. There was a significant association between child abuse and the following factors: age, occupation, level of education, economic status, number of children, divorce, drug addiction, social isolation and lack of access to social support. Results have revealed that there was a significant association between child abuse and age, occupation, level of education, economic status, number of children, divorce, drug addiction, social isolation and lack of access to social support

Résumé

One of the most exciting fields of mankind life in the recent century is computer-video games that have an increasing popularity among children and adolescents. However, it has incited the general anxiety from the probable destructive effects on these age groups. One of the major concerns is the obvious feature of aggressiveness. The present study was designed to survey the association between computer-video games and aggression in male students of guidance schools in Tehran. The study population included 333 male students of guidance school who have been randomly selected. They were requested to fill both the research and aggression questionnaires. Results have revealed a non-significant direct association between aggression and computer-video games. However, there was a significant relationship between the time of proceeding to these games and type of game with the types of aggression in a way that increasing the rate of proceeding to these games and harsh games, the rate of student's aggression was increased. Our results showed that encountering the computer games continually may cause the manners of aggression and decreasing of educational function
