Résumé

To summarize the difficulties involved in translating tests in Arabic and to describe the translation methods and to apply those to functional indexes. Four functional indexes were translated and then.subjected to the following test validation methods: back translation, pre-test, and review by an expert committee. Translation problems were underlined. These include in particular the different types of equivalence between the source language and the target language [semantics, idioms, conceptual. equivalences]. Problems related to comprehensive literal words were the most observed. The current method combining translation with back translation is not sufficient and must be used with, a pretest and a review committee

Résumé

Detection of anti-CMV antibodies was carried out in sera of healthy blood donors, divided into groups of 20 according to age and sex. Sera were tested for anti-CMV by an ELISA test [Enzygnost anti-CMV/IgG-Behring]. Among 280 sera, 272 were positive for IgG to CMV [97.14 percent]. The prevalence of those antibodies was high in all age stratum [95-110 percent] but was higher in women than in men [98.57 percent versus 95.71 percent]. The titre of IgG to CMV was superior to 12 IL/mL in 56.43 percent of CMV positive donors. So, the leucocyle removal is the only alternative for the prevention of post-transfusional CMV infection. The high percentage of donors with anti-CMV antibodies level more than to 12 UL/mL allow to consider the use of plasmapheresis for preparing specific immunoglobulins to CMV
