Fifty-three patients with facial spasm were treated by acupuncture therapy. Taichong (LR 3), Fengchi (GB 20), Yifeng (TE 17), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) were selected as main points, and others points were selected based on symptom. Of the 53 cases, 9 cases were cured,13 cases were markedly effective, 27 cases were effective, and 4 cases were ineffective, with an effective rate of 92.5%.

Infantile diarrhea was divided into four types of wind cold,damp heat,food injury and spleen deficiency on differentiation of symptoms and signs.The techniques of tonifying the spleen,clearing Dachang(large intestine),rubbing the abdomen and pressing Zhixie (stopping diarrhea) point,Zusanli (ST 36) and Changqiang (GV 1) as well as pinching the spine were chosen to treat this disease with a satisfactory result.

Seventy-three patients with bed sores were treated by warming moxibustion. Of the 73 cases, 58 cases were cured, 12 cases improved and 3 cases ineffective, with an effective rate of 95.9%.

Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic efficacy of treatment of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc with lumber vertebral traction plus Ding's Rolling Technique.Methods: 133 cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc were randomly divided into two groups. There were 68 cases in the treatment group, which were treated with lumber vertebral traction plus Tuina. There were 65 cases in the control group, which were treated with simple lumber vertebral traction. Results: There were statistic differences in the two groups (x2=6.86,P＜0.01). The therapeutic efficacy in the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion: The clinical therapeutic efficacy treated with lumber vertebral traction plus Ding's Rolling Technique was better than simple lumber vertebral traction in treating prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.

In the treatment of 12 patients with facial paralysis in the second trimester of pregnancy by puncturing Yifeng (TE 17), Yangbai (GB 14), Yingxiang (LI 20), Chengjiang (CV 24), Jiache (ST 6), Dicang (ST 4), Cuanzhu (BL 2), Heliao (LI 19) and others on the sick side plus TDP radiation and massaging on the affected face. Eleven cases were cured and one case was remarkably effective after 20 treatments.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of earth-reinforcing and wood-reducing acupuncture for child Tourette's syndrome. Methods: Forty-five children with Tourette's syndrome were randomly allocated, according to a random number table, into an acupuncture group (23 cases) and a Western medicine group (22 cases). Points Zhongwan (CV 12) and Siguan were selected in co-operation with acupuncture of other routine points in the acupuncture group. Haloperidol was orally administered for routine treatment in the Western medicine group.Results: The cure rate was 65.2% in the acupuncture group and 31.8% in the Western medicine group. There was a significant difference in cure rate between the two groups (P＜0.05).Conclusion: Earth-reinforcing and wood-reducing acupuncture has an exact curative effect on child Tourette's syndrome.

Seven cases of tic of limbs caused by an intravenous drip of penicillin combined with kfloxcin were treated by puncturing acupoints Neiguan (PC 6),Hegu(LI 4) and Taichong (LR 3).After the symptoms were relieved,the patients were again given an intravenous drip of penicillin or kfloxcin,no side effects was found.

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of combined acupuncture and herbal medicine based on Prof. QIN Liang-fu's experience in treating chronic gastritis. Methods: Ninety chronic gastritis patients were randomly divided into acupuncture, herbal medicine and acupuncture plus herbal medicine groups. The clinical effects were evaluated after 6 months. Results: After 6months, the clinical effect was better in the acupuncture plus herbal medicine group than in the acupuncture group and in the herbal medicine group(P＜ 0.05). Conclusion:The curative effect on chronic gastritis was better in the acupuncture plus herbal medicine group than in the acupuncture group and in the herbal medicine group.

Purpose: To investigate the influence of needling bilateral points Hegu (LI 4) before colonoscopy on the examined patients and the time of inserting colonoscope. Methods: 185 patients to receive colonoscopy were randomly divided into an acupuncture group (93 cases) and a control group (92 cases) in order of examination. Bilateral points Hegu (LI 4) were needled before colonoscopy in the acupuncture group. No preventive measures were taken in the control group.Pain grades during the period that colonoscope passes the sigmoid and transverse colons were observed and the time of inserting colonoscope was recorded. Results: One hundred and sixty-five patients underwent colonoscopic insertion successfully, which were taken as the effective cases. Of them, 84 cases were in the acupuncture group and 81 cases in the control group. Statistics indicated that pain grades during colonoscope's passing the sigmoid and transverse colons were significantly lower in the acupuncture group than in the control group (P＜ 0.01); the time of inserting colonoscope was significantly shorter in the acupuncture group than in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion: Needling bilateral points Hegu(LI 4) before colonoscopy can effectively relieve the patients'discomfort and shorten the colonoscopic time during the examination.

To investigate the efficacy of electroacupuncture plus TDP irradiation for treating noninfectious urethral syndrome. Method:Sixty patients with noninfectious urethral syndrome were randomly divided into an electroacupuncture plus TDP irradiation treatment group of 40 cases and a medication group of 20 cases as a control. Results:The effective rate was 85% in the treatment group and 35% in the control group. There was a significant difference in curative effect between the treatment and control groups(P＜0.01). Conclusion:Treatment by electroacupuncture plus TDP irradiation has an exact effect on noninfectious urethral syndrome. Its curative effect was significantly better than that in the medication control group.

Add the points of Zhongzhu (TE 3) and Qiuxu (GB 40) if pain is in the parietotemporal area. Fifty-six occipital neuralgia cases were treated with acupuncture.31 cases were clinically cured,24 cases improved and 1 case ineffective with a total effective rate of 98.3%.

Seeds of Vaccarin Segetalis (王不留行) taped to the desensitization plaster are sticked tightly to the points of Lung(MA-IC1),Internal Nose (MA-T),External Nose(MA-T 1),Er Shenmen (MA-TF 1),Endocrine (MA-IC 3),External Ear (MA -T),Fengxi (MA-SF) and Adrenal Gland (MA-T)plus Feishu (BL 13) in both sides sucked with the middle-sized cupping and Shenque (CV 8) with the large-sized cupping. Thirty cases of allergic rhinitis are treated. Of the 30 cases,11 have the symptoms basically or totally disappeared. 17 have the symptoms of nasal blockage,itching,sneezing and watery discharge relieved or the frequency of attacks decreased. 2 have the symptoms not significantly improved before or after treatment.

To investigate the curative effect of electroacupuncture on luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome(LUFS) and its mechanism. Methods:Sixty LUFS patients were randomly allocated to treatment (electroacupuncture) group and control (hCG) group. The follicular condition and ovarian arterial flow under color Doppler ultrasonogaphy and a change in reproductive endocrine level were observed in the patients before and after treatments. The ovulation rates and pregnancy rates were compared between the two groups,and the mechanism was investigated. Results:Both ovulation rate and pregnancy rate were significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P＜0.01). There was a significant difference in the improvement in ovarian arterial flow between the treatment and control groups (P＜0.01). The improvement in endocrine level was significantly more marked in the treatment group than in the control group(P＜0.01). Conclusion:Electroacupuncture has a good effect on luteinized unrupture follicle syndrome. Its mechanism may be related to the improvement in ovarian arterial blood supply and the regulation of endocrine level.

Objective: To observe the efficacy of electroacupuncture plus TDP for treating functional dyspepsia Methods: Sixty cases of functional dyspepsia were treated with electroacupuncture plus TDP, and another 60 cases were treated with Domperidone as a control. Results: After 10 treatments, the curative rate in treatment group was 33.3%, with a total effective rate of 91.7%. While in control group, the curative rate was 13.3%, with a total effective rate of 66.7%. There were significant differences between the two groups (P＜0.01,P＜0.001). Conclusion: Electroacupuncture plus TDP had the better therapeutic effect in treating functional dyspepsia.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic results of Acupuncture and Tuina combining with laxative suppository in treating constipation caused by antisychotic drugs. Methods: 240 patients were randomly divided into Group A, B, C, and D, 60 in each group. Group A were treated with Acupuncture and Tuina combining with laxative suppository, Group B with Acupuncture, Group C with Tuina and Group D with laxative suppository. Results: The effective rate in Group A was 98.3%, Group B 95.0%, Group C 91.7% and Group D 60.0%. Univariate χ2 was used for analysis. There were significant differences among the 4 groups. Group A was compared with Group B and C (P＜0.05) and compared with D (P＜0.01). The efficacy time( (-χ)± S) was 2.41 ± 1.87h in Group A, 2.47 ± 1.89h in Group B,9.81 ± 6.12h in Group C and 15.13 ± 6.17h in Group D. The t-test was used for analysis. The efficacy time was significant different in Group A and B (P＜0.05), significant different in Group A and C (P＜0.05), marked different in Group A and D (P＜0.01) and no significant different in Group B and C (P＞0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture and Tuina were effective, yet Acupuncture and Tuina combined with laxative suppository were more effective, and induce quick defecation.

To observe therapeutic results of acupuncture combining with behavior medicine therapy in treating repetitive strain injury (RSI), 150 patients were randomly divided into two groups with 90cases in the treatment group and 60 cases in the control group. Statistic analysis and comprehensive therapeutic evaluation were given on pain severity, functional condition, course of treatment and recurrent rate before and after treatment. The differences were significant in course of treatment and the recurrent rate in the two groups (P＜0.01). Acupuncture combining with behavior medicine therapy was effective in treating RSI and adjusting bad behavior habits.

One hundred and twenty-four cases of articulations zyqapophysiales discocation of the inferior thoracic vertebra were treated first with Tuina manipulation of rolling-kneading to relax the affected muscles, next with that of tenderness-plucking to relax the tender muscles and next with that of fixed-point oblique-pulling to restore and treat the injured soft tissues and finally with that of palmpressing flatly to adjust the dislocation. The results showed that 94 cases were cured, 21 improved and 9 ineffective after three treatments. The total effective rate was 92.7 %.
