Résumé
Fundamento: el debate bien concebido puede fortalecer la labor educativa universitaria desde el trabajo curricular, pero las estrategias diseñadas para la formación ciudadana en las universidades privilegian lo profesional en detrimento de la preparación para problematizar la realidad social. Objetivo: demostrar la efectividad del debate para el fortalecimiento de la labor educativa universitaria desde el trabajo curricular. Métodos: investigación pedagógica realizada en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Cienfuegos, de septiembre de 2016 a enero de 2017, teniendo como escenario la clase de Filosofía en el primer año de la Carrera de Estomatología. Se introdujo el debate intencionado por el profesor sobre la base de artículos con impacto en la sociedad cubana actual, previamente seleccionados y orientados al estudiante. Se consideró como requisito que el estudiante tuviera posibilidades de una preparación previa antes del debate. Se produjeron dos mediciones, una en noviembre y otra al finalizar el semestre. Se aplicó una encuesta que midió: satisfacción de los estudiantes con el método empleado, percepción de los estudiantes sobre la contribución a la formación de valores. Resultados: la totalidad de los estudiantes sintió satisfacción por el método empleado; al finalizar el semestre el 77,8 % de los estudiantes consideró que el método contribuye a la formación de valores y reforzamiento de sentimientos patrióticos en ellos. Conclusiones: ofrecer a los estudiantes la posibilidad de confrontar opiniones diferentes es posible si se logra un clima distendido y gratificante. Se corrobora que la labor del profesor es insustituible en la formación universitaria desde el trabajo curricular de cada disciplina.
Foundation: The well-conceived debate can strengthen the university educative influence from the curricular work, but the strategies designed for citizen training in the universities privilege the professional to the detriment of training them to social reality questioning. Objective: To demonstrate the effectiveness of the debate for the strengthening of university educative influence from the curricular work. Methods: Pedagogical research carried out at the University of Medical Sciences of Cienfuegos, from September 2016 to January 2017, with the Philosophy class in the first year of the Dentistry Major. The debate deliberated by the teacher was introduced on the basis of articles with impact on the current Cuban society, previously selected and student oriented. It was considered as a requirement that the student had possibilities of a previous preparation before the debate. Two measurements were taken, one in November and another at the end of the semester. A survey was applied that measured: students 'satisfaction with the method used, students' perception about the contribution to the formation of values. Results: All the students are satisfied by the method used; At the end of the semester 77, 8 % of the students considered that the method contributes to the formation of values and reinforcement of patriotic feelings in them. Conclusion: Offering students the possibility of confronting different opinions is possible if a relaxed and rewarding climate is achieved. It is corroborated that the work of the teacher is irreplaceable at university formation from the curricular work of each discipline.
