Résumé

Early chondromalacia patellae is initiated by malalignment in the extensor machaniam and abno-rmal patellofemoral tracking. It is well known that chondromalacia often occurs in recurrent pateIlar subluxation. In the 50 normal and 60 pathologic knees, the following five parameters were studied; 1) Q angle 2) PT ratio by Insall & Salvati method 3) AB ratio dy Blackburne & Peel method 4) sulcus angle 5) congruence angle. The following conclusions were made. l. In 50 normal asymptomatic knees, the average Q angle was 14°. The patellar length was equal to the patellar ligament length and the average congruence angle was −8°. In 40 knees with “Chondromalacia”, the Q angle was increaed (19.5°), and the average congruence angle was −2°. 3. In 20 knees with recurrent subaxation, the patellar was high riding (PT ratio, 0.89), the sulcus angle was shallow (145.1°), and the average congruence angle was +4.35°.

Résumé

Diastasis of the ankle joint was associated with extensive ligamentous rupture and resulted from external rotation or abduction injuries at the ankle. It might occur without associated fracture but was more frequently seen in cases of bimalleolar fracture in which there was fracture of the medial malleolus or rupture of the deltoid ligament with fracture of the lower third of the fibula. Thirty patients of diastasis of the ankle joint were admitted and treated by internal fixation with screw and bolt from January 1978 to December 1981. The following results were obtained: 1. The main cause of the injuries was falling from a height and the other causes were slipping down and sports injury in order. 2. The most common type by Lauge-Hansen classification was supination-external rotation type (20 cases, 67%). 3. Partial diastasis of the ankle joint or anterior type was 14 cases (47%) and complete diastasis or total type was 16 cases (53%). 4. In all cases, mixed oblique fibular fracture and medial instability were seen. 5. The good results were achieved in 24 patients (80%).

Résumé

Epithelioid sarcoma is malignant tumor described by Enzinger, that is likely to be confused with a varety of benign and malignant conditions, especially a granulomatous process, a synovial sarcoma Or an ulerating squamous cell carcinoma. The tumor occurs chiefly in young adult and most commonly affects the soft tissue of the hand, the forearm and the pretibial region. The tumor is characteristically a slowly growing lesion but frequent recurrence is common and metastasis were most frequent in the lung. In this paper, we reported one case which is believed to be epithelioid sarcoma in the forearm.

Résumé

Macrodactyly, a disproportionate enlargement of one or more fingers or toes, is generally regarded as a rare congenital malformation. The skin, finger nail, subcutaneous fat tissue, vessels, nerves, tendons and phalanges are all enlarged. and the basic lesion appears to be the accumulation of fibrofatty tissue. The authors have recently experienced a case of pedal macrodactyly occured in the 4th and 5th toes of right foot, which was treated with ablation of the involved toes at the level of 4th and 5th metatarsal shaft. Postoperative course was uneventful. This paper is to present a case of pedal macrodactyly in 18 years old boy, experienced recently at our department and review the references relevant to macrodactyly.
