RÉSUMÉ

The present study consisted of 50 subjects were classified into three groups; Group [GI] Control group consisted of 10 clinically healthy adult subjects of both sexes free from any liver, kidney or cardiovascular diseases. Group [GII] diabetes mellitus type 1 consisted of 20 patients of both sexes. Group [GIII] diabetes mellitus type 1 with nephropathy consisted of 20 patients of both sexes. All subjects were undergo to the following investigated parameters; Ascorbic acid [vitamin C], Catalase, Total antioxidant capacity, Aldolase and Pyruvate kinase enzyme. vitamins C, catalase, total antioxidant capacity enzymes were highly significant decreased [P < 0. 01] in diabetes mellitus type 1 [GII] and diabetes mellitus type 1 with nephropathy [GIII] when compared to the control group. Adolase activity was highly significant increased [P < 0. 01] in diabetes mellitus type 1 with nephropathy [GIII] when compared to the control group. Pyruvate Kinase activity was highly significant increased [P < 0. 01] in diabetes mellitus type 1 [GII] when compared to the control group. The antioxidant and enzymes can be used for follow up in patients suffering from diabetes mellitus type 1 and predict other complications

RÉSUMÉ

The effect of E. coli infection in association with dibutylamine and sodium nitrate in induction of bladder inflammation and /or bladder carcinogenesis were investigated in 150 male albino rats, divided into five groups, as follows: The first group [G1] infected by E. coli, The second group [G2], given nitrosamine precursors in the diet, The third group[G3] infected by E. coli and given nitrosamine precursors in the diet The fourth group[G4] infected by E. coli, given nitrosamine precursors in the diet and received standard diet containing 1% Curcumin powder mixed in the diet and the fifth group [G5], served as control group. The worst histopathological changes are in G3. A highly significant decrease in the mean cell lysate level of p21 was found in different studied groups[G1,G2 and G3] especially in[G3] where P values in these groups when compared to control group were [P < 0.0001] . In curcumin treated group [G4], there were downregulation in the mean cell lysate level of p21 gene when compared to control group but higher than other studied groups [G1, G2 and G3]. A highly significant increase in the mean serum level of Bcl-2 was found in different studied groups [G1,G2 and G3] especially in [G3] where P values in these groups [G1,G2,G3] when compared to control group were [P <0.0001]. [G4] showed higher Bcl-2 serum level when compared to control group, this difference was insignificant but this level is lower than other studied groups [G1,G2 and G3]. The results in the present study indicate that both P21 and Bcl-2 can be used as biological markers in the diagnosis of bladder cancer. Curcumin have the ability to overcome the decrease in p21 WAF1/CIP1 protein and the increase of Bcl-2 protein and reduce the induction of carcinogenic effect

RÉSUMÉ

Sera of 75 diabetic patients [IDDM] were analyzed for IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE, cortisol and ACTH levels. The study revealed a significant increase in concentrations of IgG, IgA, IgM and IgE in all patients. In addition, serum cortisol and ACTH concentrations showed a significant increase in GDRF and GDM, while in diabetic group no such finding was observed. So, serum levels of cortisol and ACTH besides the above mentioned parameters could be a diagnostic value in differentiate IDDM and the accompanying complications like renal failure as well as myocardial infarction

RÉSUMÉ

Creatine kinase [CPK], lactate dehydrogenase [LDH], cortisol and adrenocorticotropic hormone [ACTH] were evaluated in 75 subjects, classified into 3 groups: Normal healthy 25 cases as a control group [I], chronic renal failure patients [CRF] 25 cases group [II], and renal transplanted patients [RT] 25 cases group [III]. The mean level of serum CPK activity in control group was 98.76 +/- 26.67 U/L, while in chronic renal failure patients and renal transplanted subjects the mean level were 205.80 +/- 37.12 U/L and 173.91 +/- 39.36 U/L, respectively, these data were significantly higher than the control group. The mean level of serum LDH activity in control group was 313.14 +/- 39.37 U/L, while in chronic renal failure and renal transplanted subjects the mean level of serum LDH were increased significantly to be 389.18 +/- 52.40 U/L and 387.35 +/- 52.35 U/L, respectively. The mean level of serum cortisol concentration in control group was 112.67 +/- 35.92 ng/ml, while in chronic renal failure patients and renal transplanted subjects the mean of serum cortisol concentration increased significantly to be 227.36 +/- 52.04 ng/ml and 165.52 +/- 44.34 ng/ml, respectively. The mean level of plasma ACTH concentration in control group was found to be 8.43 +/- 5.15 pg/ml, while in renal transplantation patients ACTH increased significantly to be 16.9 +/- 10 pg/ml than the control group

RÉSUMÉ

The serum activity of glutamate dehydrogenase [GLDH] was measured spectrophotometrically in 75 cases, normal healthy 25 cases as a control group [I], chronic renal failure 25 cases group [II] and renal transplantation patients 25 cases group [III]. The mean level of GLDH activity in chronic renal failure [12.55 U/L] was significantly higher than the control group [1.58 U/L], and also, higher than the corresponding mean level of renal transplantation patients [2.54 U/L]. The result indicated that evaluation of serum GLDH activity has diagnostic potential
