Résumé

Fasciola infection [fascioliasis] appeared to be endemic in Egypt. Stool samples of fourty eight patients were coprologically diagnosed. According to Fasciola egg counting per gram stool, the severity of infection was divided into light infection in 60.5%, moderate in 27.1% and severe infection in 12.5%. No significant correlation was detected between severity of infection, and patients' sex. Complete blood picture, reticylocytic count, serum iron, immunological assays as anti-nuclear, anti- smooth muscle antibody, anti-mitochondrial anti-body, anti- DNA tests and rheumatoid factor and occult blood in stool were investigated. Normocytic normochromic anaemia was detected in 62.5% of the fascioliasis patients, microcytic hypochromic anaemia in 3 1.3% and macrocytic one in 6.3%. Highly significant negative correlation [R = -0.68] was detected between haemoglobin concentration and egg count per gram faeces. Human fascioliasis was associated with normocytic normochromic anaemia and to a lesser extent microcytic hypochromic anemia

Résumé

Sugar cane waste [bagasse] has been fermented under aerobic conditions using strains related to Serrata sp., Bacillus sp. Saccharomyces sp. and the total microflora of raw bagasse itself. Lipase, alpha- amylase, protease and cellulase were detected and estimated as a result of the microbial activities on raw bagasse. The waste produced after fermentation of the fermented bagasse exhibited higher capacity to remove zinc and copper from waste water, than the non-fermented raw bagasse. The results obtained is an indication for possibility to use the fermented bagasse in the process of industrial waste water treatment

Résumé

An attempt has been made to study the distribution of Saprolegnia species in soil and water ody of Nasser's lake. Soil and water samples and plant debris we e collected from, different localities for such a purification of these fungi. Results have shown that certain Saprolegnia species were recorded in Nasser's lake, and they were identified as Saprolegnia type 2

Résumé

An attempt has been made to detect the presence of the genera Achlya and Dicryurhus and some members of Chytrids in soils and orate. samples of the Nile and Nasser's lake. Sterile boiled hemp seeds, sterile cellophane paper, sterile skin, sterile house. flies and sterile human hairs were used as baits for such a purpose. Results have shown that Achlya sp., Dictyuchus sp. were recorded in soils and water sample of Nasser's lake, while five types of Chyhrids were recorded in soils : and water samples of the Nile and Nasser's lake

Résumé

An attempt has been made to study the distribution of Allomyces species in some Egyptian soils at Aswan, Asyut, Minya, Beni-Suef, Giza, Cairo, Zagazig, Banha, Tanta and Ismailia. Soil samples were collected from these localities for such a purpose. Sterile boiled hemp seeds were used for isolation and purification of these fungi. Results have shown that certain Allomyces species were recorded in some Egyptian soils, and they are giver, the names Allomyces orbrtsculus, 4. javanicus, A. neo-moniliformis and A. moniliformis
