Classe IV: soluções para restabelecer cor e forma com compósitos / Class IV: solutions for restore color and shape with composites

Abordando terapêuticas distintas em dois casos clínicos, este artigo apresenta o restabelecimento da forma e cor de lesões de classe IV, enfatizando a importância do correto diagnóstico para definição da abordagem restauradora. No primeiro caso, o sobrecontorno estético restaurador da classe IV objetivou corrigir leve inclinação vestibulopalatal, resultando em dominância dos incisivos centrais. No segundo caso clínico, a restauração da fratura sem execução de bisel limitou-se à reconstituição morfológica e das características ópticas, promovendo naturalidade e harmonia. Conclui que correto diagnóstico e obediência ao protocolo de execução promovem resultados conservadores e naturalidade.

This article presents two clinical cases of reestablishment of form and color of Class IV cavities, highlighting the importance of a correct diagnosis. In the first case, the aim of the esthetic overcontouring using the Class IV restoration was to correct the slight labial-palatal tilting, resulting in dominance of central incisors. In the second clinical case, the restoration of the fracture without bevel, was limited to the restoration of the lost morphological and optical features, to promote naturality and harmony. The authors concluded that the correct diagnosis and following the protocol produce conservative, life-like results.

O uso do mock-up na otimização e precisão do resultado da cirurgia plástica periodontal / The use of a mock-up for achieving precision and optimization of the outcome of periodontal plastic surgery

Um planejamento reabilitador estético-funcional envolve a integração de diversas especialidades da odontologia, com destaque para a atuação da periodontia, na otimização dos resultados. O objetivo deste trabalho é, por intermédio da descrição de duas técnicas de mock-up, destacar a importância deste para o planejamento cirúrgico periodontal e para a previsibilidade do resultado.

The esthetic and functional rehabilitation involves the integration of several specialties of dentistry, with emphasis on the role of periodontics on the optimization of results. The aim of this work is to highlight the importance of surgical planning for the predictability of periodontal outcomes through the description of two mock-up techniques.
