Résumé

GBM is the most common and malignant astrocity tumor and it is persistent to common treatment so, these patients have a very low survival. Several researchers around the world, including Iran, have been investigated GBM-cell line in vitro. However in vivo studies have not been fulfilled. As standard cell line [U-87MG] derived from human GBM and total GBM tumor derived from 3 patients were heterotypic ally injected into 4-6 weeks old athymic nude mice. Pathologic investigation by H and E, GFAP and Ki-67 were examined 2 months post implantation. GBM characteristics appeared in H and E and GFAP and the rate of proliferation was 6% and in direct xenograft tumor was 9% which was consistent with the pathologic result of patient. GBM Xengraft is the most suitable model for in vivo investigation and researcher can evaluate new treatments for this tumor. On the other hands, Pharmacogenomics differences in treatment response could be indicated among Iranians

Résumé

Central giant cell granuloma [CGCG] is a non-neoplastic proliferative intra-osseous lesion which occurs almost exclusively in the jaws, anterior to the molars and more commonly in the mandible. This article presents an unusual case of CGCG in a 56-year old edentulous woman with the chief complaint of a rapidly growing lesion in the anterior part of her maxilla. Based on the clinical findings and radiographic pattern of its huge calcification [in the panoramic view and CT scan], the lesion was misdiagnosed as destructive fibro-osseous or malignant lesion, but it was histopathologically diagnosed as CGCG. This case report is presented to highlight the importance of histopathology in the diagnosis of this enigmatic lesion

Résumé

Antioxidant reduces oxidative stress during cryo-preservation. The aim of this study was to find out the effects of vitamin E and C on sperm parameters after cryo-preservation. Human semen samples were obtained from Vali-e-asr Hospital. The samples were divided in two groups [normal and oligospermia groups]. Semen was pooled in liquid nitrogen after thawing, samples were centrifuged, then vitamin E and C were added to medium and the aliquots were incubated for 45 minutes in incubator Co2. In control group, no antioxidant was added to medium. Sperm parameters were analyzed according to WHO criteria. Data was analyzed by ANNOVA test. There was a significant increase in the progressive motility and viability of sperm which was supplemented by vitamin E, with 1, 2 Mm [p<0.05] in the normal groups [the increase in the oligospermia group, after addition of vitamin E with 1, 2, Mm was not significant]. Vitamin C did not have a significant effect on sperm parameters with 1, 2 Mm concentration. Supplementation of media with alpha-tocopherol is beneficial for sperm motility and viability rates after cryopreservation and it may be of clinical value in assisted conception procedures

Résumé

To determine the antagonistic effects of tolazoline on xylazine Hcl sedation, 12 male Holstein calves of 8 to 12 months age with an average weight of 210 Kg were considered and arranged in 2 groups of 6 calves as the test and control groups. All calves were received an initial IM injection of xylazine Hcl [0.4 mg/Kg of 2% solution] followed in 15 minutes by IV injection of Tolazoline [2 mg/Kg of 10% solution] in test group and IV injection of the same volume of 0.9% normal saline in control calves. The significance reversal effects of tolazoline for xylazine Hcl on rectal temperature, heart and respiratory rates and recovery time [9.67 +/- 0.7 minutes] [P<0.05] indicated that, tolazoline is potentially enable to diminish the undesirable effects of xylazine Hcl such as prolonged sternal recumbancy with minimal complications
