Résumé

This study was conducted on 30 dogs divided into three equal groups: Group I underwent vesicomyotomy, group II had vesicomyectomy and group III had vesicomyectomy with demucosulated gastrocystoplasty. All groups were compared pre-and postoperatively as regards bladder capacity, pressure and compliance. The mortality and postoperative complications were recorded. The study concluded that the functional evaluation of various techniques for bladder auto-augmentation showed that bladder capacity increased with a better compliance and without any metabolic complications related to the presence of gastrointestinal mucosa in the augmented unit. The addition of a seromuscular gastric patch to vesicomyectomy improved the functional results and decreased the incidence of complications

Résumé

Over a period of one year, 17 boys with various forms of penile hypospadias with evident chordee were treated in our unit. Their age ranged from 2 to 8 years. All of them were primary cases, no redo. The position of the meatus was coronal in 6 boys, mid penile in 5, and proximal penile in 6 and all of them were non circumcised with evident chordee. The repair of hypospadias was done using various techniques with preservation of the urethral plate despite the presence of chordee, with a low incidence of complications. The preservation of the urethral plate in hypospadias repair is a principle with significant implications to an extended variety of hypospadias

Résumé

Congenital H. type tracheoesophageal fistula presents with clinical features of variable types and severity including shocking, coughing and cynosis with feeds, pneumonia and abdomina distention. the rarity of the condition, its specific symptomatology and limitations in its demonstration by contrast radiology and endoscopy, contribute to delay between the first presentation and confirmation of the diagnosis. In this series of 8 patients, an initial esophagogram demonstrated the fistula in 4 only even after 2 attempts. By using methylene blue injected through an endotracheal tube with an esophagoscope inserted at the same time at the esophageal inlet, confirmed the presence of fistula and its position in all of them. This technique seemed to be simple and safe for confirmation of the presence of H. fistula when the clinical picture is highly suggestive, with negative esophagogram

Résumé

Three premature twins ranging in age from 2 to 4 days were managed for idiopathic gastrointestinal perforation from July 1989 till December 1990. all were boys, they were born prematurely and were treated in a neonatal intensive care unit when perforation were diagnosed. The sites of perforations were in each twin, and the occurrence of perforation in one usually preceded the other. 3 out of 6 died [50%] in the post operative period. This observation in twins should alert us to the possibility of occurrence of the perforation in the 2 nd when it occurs in the first
