RÉSUMÉ

Proprioceptive, vestibular and visual senses control human movements. This study was carried out to compare the posture of head and shoulder in blind, deaf and ordinary pupils. This descriptive and analytic study was done on 16 blind, 30 deaf and 60 ordinary pupils in Ardabil city, Noth-west of Iran. Sagital and frontal planes Photos for each child was used for determination of head and shoulder deviation. Forward head in blind group significantly was lower than deaf and ordinary pupils [P<0.05]. Rounded shoulder in blind and deaf pupils significantly was lower than ordinary pupils [P<0.05]. Uneven shoulders in deaf pupils significantly was lower than ordinary and blind children [P<0.05]. Lateral flexion of the head in blind and deaf pupiles significantly was higher than ordinary children [P<0.05]. There is a relationship between sensory impairment and postural problems paticularly in blindness Pupils

RÉSUMÉ

Therapeutic abortion in the second trimester pregnancy is the choice treatment in cases with severe anomalies or intrauterine fetal death. It can be done by a number of medical [e.g. misoprostol] or mechanical methods [e.g. laminaria]. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of misoprostol alone and misoprostol in combination with laminaria in the induction of second trimester abortion. In this interventional study, 80 pregnant women with the gestational age of 13-25 weeks who were candidates of therapeutic abortion were selected and randomly divided into two groups [n=40]. One group received misoprostol alone and the other received misoprostol in combination with laminaria. Combination of misoprostol and laminaria caused not only a significant shorter time interval from the initiation of intervention to abortion [P=0.034], but also lower dose of administered misoprostol [P=0.001], less need for curettage [P=0.001], and shorter hospitalization period [P=0.042]. Based on the obtained results, misoprostol in combination with laminaria is recommended for the induction of second trimester therapeutic abortion

Hemangiomas of the uterine cervix are very rare. They are usually small and harmless. This is a case of cervical hemangioma presenting with intractable postpartum hemorrhage that made hysterectomy mandatory. This benign tumor may cause obstetrical complications

RÉSUMÉ

Blindness arising from ischemic optic neuropathy is a rare cause of massive exsanguinating hemorrhage. It can be occurred as a transient or permanent, unilateral or bilateral complication. Its occurrence is rare in obstetric hemorrhage. In this case study, we present a case of blindness after hemorrhage from uterine rupture. A 30-year old primigravida woman was brought to the hospital with signs of hypovolemic shock after a precipitated delivery. Based on the clinical diagnosis of uterine rupture hysterectomy was performed for the patient. In addition to acute tubular necrosis the patient developed blindness on 6th day of admission. Clinical diagnosis of ischemic optic neuropathy was done. Three days later she recovered spontaneously and left the hospital. Although loss of vision rarely occurs after obstetric hemorrhage, regarding their tragic consequences particularly in permanent cases, it is wise to prevent these complications by correction of anemia before delivery and immediate transfusion after hemorrhage
