Résumé

Objective: To understand the spatial characteristics of echinococcosis and associated factors in the pastoral area of Qinghai province, and provide evidence for the effective prevention and control of echinococcosis. Methods: The number of echinococcosis cases in the pastoral areas of Qinghai in 2019 was collected to perform spatial epidemiological analysis. The thematic map of the distribution of echinococcosis cases was generated with software ArcGIS 10.8 for visual analysis and spatial autocorrelation analysis. The spatial autocorrelation and spatial scanning analysis were performed to estimate the clustering of echinococcosis with software SaTScan 9.5. Software GeoDa 1.14 and ArcGIS 10.8 were used to establish spatial lag model and geographical weighted regression model to analyze the related factors of echinococcosis epidemic. Results: In 2019, the echinococcosis surveillance covered 64 741 people in the pastoral area of Qinghai, and 829 echinococcosis cases were found, with a prevalence rate of 1.28%. The distribution of the cases had spatial correlation (Moran's I=0.41, P<0.001). The most possible clustering areas indicated by spatial scanning analysis included Banma, Jiuzhi, Dari and Gande counties of Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (LLR=460.77, RR=9.20, P<0.001). The prevalence of echinococcosis in the pastoral areas was positively associated with the total annual precipitation (β=0.13, P=0.036), and negatively associated with population density (β=-1.36, P=0.019) and doctors/nurse ratio (β=-25.60, P=0.026). Conclusions: The distribution of echinococcosis cases in the pastoral areas of Qinghai in 2019 had spatial correlation, and the prevalence was affected by total annual precipitation, population density, and doctors/nurse ratio.

Résumé

Goose parvovirus (GPV) continues to be a threat to goose farms and has significant economic effects on the production of geese. Current commercially available vaccines only rarely prevent GPV infection. In our study, Lactobacillus (L.) plantarum NC8 was selected as a vector to express the VP2 gene of GPV, and recombinant L. plantarum pSIP409-VP2/NC8 was successfully constructed. The molecular weight of the expressed recombinant protein was approximately 70 kDa. Mice were immunized with a 2 × 109 colony-forming unit/200 µL dose of the recombinant L. plantarum strain, and the ratios and numbers of CD11c⁺, CD3⁺CD4⁺, CD3⁺CD8⁺, and interferon gamma- and tumor necrosis factor alpha-expressing spleen lymphocytes in the pSIP409-VP2/NC8 group were higher than those in the control groups. In addition, we assessed the capacity of L. plantarum SIP409-VP2/NC8 to induce secretory IgA production. We conclude that administered pSIP409-VP2/NC8 leads to relatively extensive cellular responses. This study provides information on GPV infection and offers a clear framework of options available for GPV control strategies.

Résumé

<p><b>PURPOSE</b>To investigate the effects of salvianolic acid B (SAB) on tumor necrosis factor a (TNF-α) induced alterations of cerebral microcirculation with a bone-abrading model.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The influences of craniotomy model and bone-abrading model on cerebral microcirculation were compared. The bone-abrading method was used to detect the effects of intracerebroventricular application of 40 μg/kg·bw TNF-α on cerebral venular leakage of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)- albulmin and the rolling and adhesion of leukocytes on venules with fluorescence tracer rhodamine 6G. The therapeutical effects of SAB on TNF-α induced microcirculatory alteration were observed, with continuous intravenous injection of 5 mg/kg·h SAB starting at 20 min before or 20 min after TNF-α administration, respectively. The expressions of CD11b/CD18 and CD62L in leukocytes were measured with flow cytometry. Immunohistochemical staining was also used to detect E-selectin and ICAM-1 expression in endothelial cells.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with craniotomy method, the bone-abrading method preserved a higher erythrocyte velocity in cerebral venules and more opening capillaries. TNF-α intervention only caused responses of vascular hyperpermeability and leukocyte rolling on venular walls, without leukocyte adhesion and other hemodynamic changes. Pre- or post-SAB treatment attenuated those responses and suppressed the enhanced expressions of CD11b/CD18 and CD62L in leukocytes and E-selectin and ICAM-1 in endothelial cells induced by TNF-α.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The pre- and post-applications of SAB during TNF-α stimulation could suppress adhesive molecular expression and subsequently attenuate the increase of cerebral vascular permeability and leukocyte rolling.</p>

Résumé

To investigate the effects of a compound (FF16), compatibility of Rhodiola crenulata, Cordyceps militaris, and Rhum palmatum, on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in IRF mice induced by high fat diet H&E stain was processed to evaluate the lipid accumulation in liver, and the dynamic microcirculation observation system was applied to determine hepatic microcirculation of IRF mice. Western blot was performed to evaluate IRS-2, HSL and ppar-alpha expression in liver. The results demonstrate that FF16 significantly decreased the liver lipid index and improved liver steatosis in IRF mice. Furthermore, FF16 could ameliorate hepatic microcirculation disturbance in IRF mice through enhancing RBC velocity and shear rates by 62.5% and 49.7%, increasing sinusoids perfusion by 70.0%, inhibiting adhered leukocytes in IRF mice. The abnormal expressions of IRS-2 and HSL were both reversed by the administration of FF16. In conclusion, FF16 could improve non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in IRF mice by improving insulin sensitivity, regulating lipid metabolism and improving microcirculation disturbance.

Résumé

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the effect of panax quinquefolius saponin(PQS) on blood glucose, blood lipid and insulin sensitivity in patients of coronary heart disease (CHD) with blood glucose abnormality (BGA).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Eighty-four patients of CHD with BGA, namely CHD patients with impaired fasting glucose (IFG), or impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), were randomly assigned to the PQS group (43 cases) and the control group (41 cases), all were treated with routine Western medicine, but to patients in the PQS group PQS was given orally for 4 successive weeks in addition. Levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were detected both before and after treatment, and insulin sensitive index (ISI) as well as the insulin resistance index and function of beta cells of homostasis model (Homa-IR and Homa-beta) were calculated accordingly.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>After treatment, FPG decreased predominantly in both groups (P < 0.01), and the decrement in the PQS group showed a greater trend (25.80 +/- 12.72) % vs (20.89 +/- 12.17) %, but with no statistical significance; no obvious change in levels of FINS, ISI and Homa-IR was found in two groups (P > 0.05). Homa-beta value, which showed insignificantly difference before treatment, increased markedly in the PQS group after treatment from 3.48 +/- 0.76 to 4.19 +/- 0.79 (P < 0.01), which was higher obviously than the unchanged value of Homa-beta in the control group (3.82 +/- 0.77, P < 0.05). There was also decreasing of TC and LDL-C levels after treatment in the PQS group (P < 0.05), and the TC level in the PQS group (1.17 +/- 0.54) mmol/L was significantly lower than that in the control group [(1.42 +/- 0.49) mmol/L, P < 0.05) after treatment.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Compared with using it alone, routine Western medicine treatment, by combining with PQS showed superiority in lowering FPG, could significantly decrease the levels of TC and LDL-C, and might improve the beta-cell function in patients of CHD with BGA. It showed no effect on insulin sensitivity of patients, in spite of in combining or not with PQS.</p>

Résumé

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM), impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), impaired fasting glucose (IFG) in Baotou Iron & Steel Company and to provide scientific evidence for prevention and intervention of DM.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Prevalence of DM was studied in 20 221 workers aged 20 years and over (male 15 124 and female 5 097), with the criteria set by the American Diabetes Association (ADA, 1997), in Baotou Iron & Steel Company.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Prevalence of DM, IGT and IFG was 3.22%, 3.48% and 2.09%, respectively in 20 221 subjects, adjusted for age, which increased with age, body mass index and waist to hip ratio, and 56.30% of them were newly-diagnosed. Family history of DM and overweight correlated to prevalence of DM, IGT and IFG, which was higher in mental workers than that in physical laborers. The lower level of education, the higher prevalence of DM, IGT and IFG. Prevalence of DM, IGT and IFG in the workers working under high-temperature condition had no significantly difference with that in the control group. Mean blood pressure was significantly higher in persons with DM, IGT and IFG than that in the normal controls.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Age, overweight, obesity, family history of DM, mental work, low level of education, and history of gestation with a huge fetus all were risk factors for DM, IGT and IFG. There is no significant impact of high temperature environment on prevalence of DM, IGT and IFG.</p>
