Résumé

Morphine is the most important alkaloid of opium that has studied on some body organs. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of morphine on growth and development of ovarian follicles of the ovaries of mouse in different stages of growth. 40 female rats aged three weeks were selected and assigned into two experimental groups, two control and sham groups. For 9 weeks, each rat of experimental group was taken morphine orally with concentrations of 0.1 and 0.0l mg/ml of drinking water. The control group was prescribed only water and sham group was ordered water and sugar. Having anesthetized the rats and removed their ovaries, histological processes were achieved and primary, secondary, mature and atretic follicles were counted and surveyed. The results showed that effects of morphine on primary follicles in different groups were not significant, however, morphine had significant effects on secondary, mature and atretic follicles when compared different groups [P<0.001]. Our findings indicate the effect of morphine on ovulation and function of female genital system

Résumé

Formaldehyde is a suffocating gas with a sharp smell which enters the body from different ways and induces tissue damages. With respect to its effects damages on testis and the on testis and spermatozoa, the present study was conducted to determine the effects of formaldehyde on morphometric structure of testis in Balb/C mice. In an experimental research, a total of 40 adult mice of the bread Balb/C were selected and assigned in experimental and control groups. For this study 37% formaldehyde was injected intraperitoneally with four doses in a 40-day period. After weighting the mice, the abdomen was opened and the testes were weighted and subjected to morphometric study. Results showed that there were not significant differences between the experimental group and controls based on testes weight and morphometric structure, however, body weight and the ratio of the weight of two testes to body weight [GSI] did differ significantly. It was showed that despite a significant reduction in body weight following the formaldehyde injection, the weight of testes and their dimensions were not changed

Résumé

Considering the previous studies on the harmful effects of opioids on some body organs, determining the histological changes of liver due to heroin, as the most used opium in Iran, seems to be necessary. In this experimental study, a total of 30 mice were divided into three control and two experimental groups. Having depended to heroine [50mg/kg IP for 3 days, twice daily], different experimental groups of dependant mice were divided into two groups. One of which received heroin 5 mg/kg IP and the other 5 mg/ml, IP twice daily for a period of 40 days. Then, the mice were euthanized and by removing the livers, they were sectioned and stained with H and E and the histological structures of liver were studied. There were no histological differences between control groups, however, the experimental and control groups showed some differences such as hyperemia in central veins, presence of inflammatory cells in portal space and its relative parenchyma, irregularity in hepatocyte, enlarging the sinusoids and nuclei and finally repairing changes in liver. With respect to the observed histological changes, liver's histological changes should be kept in mind as one of the dangerous effects of opioids among addicted Iranian subjects
