Résumé

Objective To explore the operative method and skill for female frontotemporal hairline reconstruction. Methods From October 2010 to October 2016,120 female patients were performed with the hairline reconstruction. The follicular units were arranged irregularly,40-55 FUs/ cm2,with 30°-45° angle from the forehead skin and 15°-20° angle from the temporal skin. The finest hairs were selected and arranged in hairline margin. Results All the patients were followed up for 10-24 months.95 patients were very satisfied,25 patients were satisfied, and no patients were unsatisfied.9 patients complained low density in the middle of the hairline and they had another surgery to improve the density.3 patients's hairline was regular, and another graft was done to correct the unnatural appearance.6 patients's hairs of the hairline margin were thick, hut no further treatment was done.1 patient underwent hair transplantation again, because of the still high hairline.6 patients's transplanted hairs appeared curly, and the curly degree was decreased after 1-2 years. The density of the transplanted hair was (44.7±8.1) FU/cm2.The density of 9 cases who complained low density in the middle of the hairline, was (36.9 ± 3.1) FU/cm2.The hair diameter of the hairline edge was (57.5±13.5) μm.The hair diameter of 6 cases who felt the hair thick was (70.2±5.1) μm.The angle of hair and the frontal skin was (40.2±8.5)°,The angle of hair and the temporal skin was (18.2± 4.7)°.Conclusions In female frontotemporal hairline reconstruction, nature hairline is created by irregular arrangement of hairs, proper density and angle and exact arrangement of different diameter hairs.

Résumé

Objective To introduce an operative method of rhytidectomy with W-incision and fewer complications for facial rejuvenation. Methods A total of 84 patients were treated with rhytidectomy by multi-methods and followed up from January 2007 to December 2012.The rhytidectomy was done along the temporal hairline edge through the combined procedures, including sharp and blunt separation, liposuction and filling with autologous fat, tighting and fixing the fascial flap of superficial musculoaponeurotic system,as well as the suspension of the zygomatic cheek fiber fat pad. Results Follow-up for 3 moths to 2 years after surgery in 84 patients showed that the wound was healing with good concealment and without complications such as facial nerve injury or local uneven. All the cases achieved good results in facelift with high satisfaction rate after the combined operations. Conclusions This combined rhytidectomy is safe, effective, simple and easy. And it is a good and ideal approach of facial rejuvenation worthy of clinical application.

Résumé

OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of retroauricular hair line incision (RAHI) in partial superficial parotidectomy by comparison with modified Blair incision or facelift incision. METHODS: Medical records of 73 patients with benign parotid tumor who underwent partial superficial parotidectomy were retrospectively reviewed. Size and location of tumors, operative time, occurrence of facial nerve paralysis and Frey's syndrome, and cosmetic outcomes were compared among RAHI, facelift incision (FLI), modified Blair incision (MBI) groups. RESULTS: RAHI group showed better cosmetic results than FLI group or MBI group compared with other type of incisions (P0.999), occurrence of temporary or permanent facial nerve paralysis (P=0.745) and Frey's syndrome (P=0.940). CONCLUSION: Partial superficial parotidectomy can be done safely by RAHI in most cases of benign parotid tumor. Compared with MBI or FLI, RAHI has better cosmetic outcome with no increase of operative time or postoperative complications.

Résumé

BACKGROUND: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) occurs as a result of progressive miniaturization of scalp hair in genetically predisposed individuals. Several effective treatments for AGA are well known. However, there is a paucity of literature about the influence of such treatments on the frontal hair line (FHL). OBJECTIVE: To assess the effectiveness of oral finasteride and/or topical minoxidil on the FHL. METHODS: An assessment of 100 male patients with AGA of grades II to IV was made, based on the Norwood- Hamilton scale after six months of treatment. The patients were divided into three groups. Group 1 received 1 mg of oral finasteride daily. Group 2 exclusively used 5% minoxidil solution 1 ml twice daily. Group 3 received 1 mg of finasteride daily in combination with a topical application of 5% minoxidil solution. We measured the length from the mid-pupillary line to three points of the FHL with calipers; midpoint of the forehead, and right and left temporal recession, respectively. RESULTS: An improvement of the FHL was observed in all of three groups. There was a tendency for patients taking only finasteride to show an overall improvement in the frontal hair line, while patients applying only minoxidil solution showed an improvement in both temporal recession lines. Comparing the three groups at three points of the FHL respectively, at both temporal recession of the FHL, Group 3 showed the best result, followed by Group 2, and finally Group 1. The center of the FHL Group 3 showed the best result, followed by Group 1, and finally Group 2. CONCLUSION: We found that the combination therapy of finasteride and minoxidil had a synergic effect on FHL in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. In the assessment of treatment efficacy to the FHL of patients with AGA, the method of using calipers in this study was worthwhile.

Résumé

BACKGROUND: Frontal hair line dose not exist in the same form for a lifetime, and each individual has a different form of frontal hair line. But, the study of the change of the frontal hair line still dose not exist. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study of the change of frontal hair line was to analyze whether the change of age, puberty, and the family history of androgenic alopecia was related to the change of frontal hair line. METHOD: This study held a survey which consists of male and female students of each class from middle school to high school. In this survey, the shape of frontal hair line was classified into the egg shape, square shape, and M shape. RESULT: 1. When the age increased, the egg shape type of frontal hair line decreased, and the square type of frontal hair line increased. Especially, men were more salient. 2. During puberty, the egg shape type of frontal hair line decreased, and the square shape type of frontal hair line increased. 3. Before puberty, the m shape type of frontal hair line did not exist, but during puberty the M shape type of frontal hair line appeared. 4. Statistically, the family history of androgenic alopecia of the relationship of the change of the egg shape type decreased, the square shape increased. CONCLUSION: This study shows that frontal hair line is related to the change of age, and existence of puberty.
