RÉSUMÉ

Background:Adolescence and young adulthood are generally considered as healthy times of life but available evidence indicates that young people are now more prone to a number of health problems particularly those in professional courses like medical and engineering. They face the stress of modern education system and the changing life styles of modern India like fast food and addictions. Methods:To find out the effect of food habits and addiction on young medical students, 100 healthy students were selected from 2ndyear batch of 150 students of I.M.S.andS.U.M.Hospital, Sikhya O. Anusandhana University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. All these 100 students will be divided into two equal age matched groups of 50 students. One group willbe advised to follow some special life style modifications consider to be healthy for 2 months and the other group was left as such and no special interference was done in their lifestyles and no special dietary modification advised to them.Results:After two months it was found that in the group with life style modifications has significant changes in their Calcium(Ca), Magnesium(Mg)and Phosphorus(P)values before and after studies whereas there was no significant the changes in the values of Sodium (Na), Potassium (K) and Chloride (Cl)are noted with life style modifications.Conclusions:From the above study it may be concluded that life style modification has certain beneficial effects on the young students to face the stress related with studiesin a positive direction by improving electrolytes level particularly Ca, Mg and P.

Life style diseases are defined as diseases linked with the way people live their life. It includes daily routine of people comprising their food habits, sleep pattern, other activities, emotional set up etc. keeping this in view before many era in Ayurvedic science our Acharya have mentioned about the importance of ahara (food), vihara (activities), swasthya palana (maintaining good conducts), Nidra (sleep) etc. and neglecting of this factors is the prime factor for the occurrence of many diseases in future have been explained. Nowadays due to life style modifications many diseases are evolving drastically in skin. One among such disorder which is evolving nowadays is Urticaria (sheetapitta).So in this article the contributory factors in life style modification done by the people who are residing in Vadodara, Gujarat have been observed and data have been tabulated. Which would be helping in analysing the causative factors responsible for the pathogenesis of Urticaria (sheetapitta),by which the occurrence as well as recurrence of this skin disease can be prevented.

Background: In recent years, the practice of law is demanding and exceedingly stressful occupation. Main factors concerned are, being overloaded with work, unsupported, lack of appreciation, long hours, unattainable targets. Even the most balanced and well-adjusted advocates at some point eventually succumbs to the pressures of working in the legal field. It causes hypertension and a great impact on ones’well being. Hence the main objective of the study is to find out the prevalence of hypertension among practising advocates, thereby effective measures can be taken to prevent and control hypertension and its complications.Methods: : A cross-sectional study was conducted in a sample of 300 practising advocates at Madurai district court for a period of 1 year by simple random sampling method.Results: The overall prevalence of hypertension among the practising advocates was found to be 41% (123). Among the 123 hypertensives, 56 (18.7%) were known hypertensives and 67 (22.3%) were newly detected hypertensives.Conclusions: The cause for hypertension among the advocates may be due to hectic work pressure. Advocates being professionals are well educated and informative. Regular adoption of basic life style modification practices, short vacations, arrangement of health camps in court premises with guidance of bar council association, recruitment of health counsellor in Bar Council Association for health educating and counselling the advocates, regular monitoring of health status by self-care management can control and prevent hypentension.
