Résumé
Se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico, con un modelo de diseño del tipo casos y controles en 117 mujeres del Policlínico Docente "La Rampa" perteneciente al municipio Plaza de la Revolución de las cuales 17 tuvieron un recién nacido con un peso inferior a los 2 500 g. Las restantes 100 mujeres lograron niños con un peso igual al anteriormente señalado o superior. Analizamos la influencia de algunos antecedentes como el orden de nacimientos y de embarazos, el número de abortos y las gestaciones de bajo peso anteriores y determinados antecedentes patológicos de la madre. Se concluyó que los factores que influyen en el nacimiento de un niño con bajo peso son, entre otros: que sea el primer nacimiento (RR = 2); el primer embarazo (RR = 1,8); el haber tenido 2 o más abortos previos (RR = 4,9), el antecedente de haber tenido uno o más recién nacido de bajo peso (RNBP) (RR = 6,9) y ciertas enfermedades maternas como la urosepsis (RR = 3,7), la hipertensión crónica (RR = 3,21), la anemia (RR = 2,7) y el asma (RR = 1,9). Se hacen algunas recomendaciones.
An observational and analytical case-control study was conducted among 117 women attended at "La Rampa" Teaching Polyclinic, in the municipality of Plaza de la Revolución. 17 of these women had a newborn infant with a birth weight under 2 500 g. The rest of them had children with the same weight or higher. The influence of some history as the order of births and pregnancies, the number of abortions and the previous low weight gestations and certain pathological history of the mother were analyzed. It was concluded that the factors that influenced on the birth of a low birth weight infant are, among others: the first birth (RR=2), the first pregnancy (RR=1,8); having had 2 or more previous abortions (RR=4,9), having had one or more low birth weight infants (RR=6,9), and some maternal diseases as urosepsis (RR=3,7), chronic hypertension (RR=3,21), anemia (RR=2,7) and asthma (RR=1,9).
