Hospital image information system is evolving from department-oriented to patient-oriented. This paper introduces the implementation of Beijing University People's Hospital image data center. The ideas, approaches and the technological standards for image data center's system integration are proposed. Additionally, the problems in practical application and the outlook for this system are discussed.

Objective To realize information sharing and medical resources integration in different medical enterprises.Methods In accordance with IHE XDS-I image data registration-distribution model,regional data exchange center was set up so that the medical images and report data could be exchanged and shared,and the regional medical network could be smoothly upgraded in interconnection.Results Exchange and sharing of medical images and reports were realized.Standard IHE data interface was prepared for future images exchange between different hospitals.XDS-I model in domestic hospitals were put into practice.Conclusion The structure design of data center is feasible,reliable and effective.
Résumé
With the spread of PACS, it has been a challenge to integrate the storage and share of medical image. In this paper, the present situation and problems of PACS in Chinese hospitals are analyzed, and the concept of medical image data center is presented, then the architecture and key technologies of the center are discussed.
