RÉSUMÉ

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic characteristics of intestinal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumours(IMT)in middle-aged and elderly patients. Methods The clinical,pathologi-cal morphology, immunophenotype and follow-up results of 5 cases of intestinal IMT in middle-aged and elderly patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results 4 cases of IMT occurred in the right half colon and 1 in the ileum. Most patients(3/5)had a history of intestinal injury, starting the digestive tract symptoms and increased leukocytes. The tumor tissue was composed of fusiform myofibroblasts and fibroblasts arranged in storiform pattern, with an infiltrative growth pattern, accompanied by a large number of lymphocytes and plasma cells infiltration, collagen formation and myxedema. One case was atypically large and deformed.Immunophenotype:vimentin(5cases),SMA(5 cases),desmin(3 cases),ALK(3 cases),CK(2 cases)were positive.Caldesmon,CD34,β-catenin,MC,CD117,DOG1,S-100,BCL-2,CD99,CD68 were negative, and Ki-67 proliferation index was 1.28%to 10.01%.All the 5 cases underwent complete tumor resection and were followed up for 48.5 to 133 months.Among them,1 patient aged 83 was considered to have tumor recurrence 27 months after surgery. The other patient survived 122 months without tumor and died of other causes. All the others survived without tumor and were in good condition.Conclusion(1)Intestinal IMT in the middle-aged and elderly people in this group was more common in the right half colon, and most of them had a history of intestinal injury, first gastrointestinal symptoms and elevated white blood cells;(2)Vimentin and SMA were positive at the same time, and ALK was more positive;(3)4/5 patients had good surgical resection, and 1/5 patients could relapse 2~3 years after surgery;old age,ALK-positive,Ki67 up to 10%,atypia may be an important risk factor for intestinal IMT recurrence in the elderly,of which ALK-positive patients may have a recurrence risk of 1/3.

RÉSUMÉ

Middle-aged and elderly patients with femoral neck fracture often suffer from basic diseases. Conservative treatment will significantly increase the incidence of complications. At present, surgical treatment is mostly advocated. Internal fixation is one of the effective treatment methods for middle-aged and elderly patients with femoral neck fracture. It has the advantages of improving hip joint function, accelerating patient recovery, and improving patient quality of life. At present, there are many choices of internal fixation in the world, each has its own advantages and disadvantages, and there is no unified standard. Different surgical methods can be selected according to various factors such as fracture type, patient′s physical condition and surgical auxiliary technology. This article reviews the clinical progress of internal fixation for femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and elderly patients from four aspects: the characteristics of femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and elderly patients, common internal fixation methods, 3D printing guide plate auxiliary technology and artificial intelligence auxiliary technology.

@#Obiective To investigate the current status of remaining teeth and edentulous jaw arch of people aged 35-44, 55-64 and 65- 74 in Guangdong province. Methods An equal- sized stratified multi-stage randomly sampling design was applied to select a total of 288 Guangdong residents in urban and rural areas, and the subjects were between the age of 35-44, 55-64 and 65-74, with a gender ratio of half to half. The status of remaining teeth and edentulous jaw arch were assessed according to the Guideline for the 4th National Oral Health Survey. Results 88.89% subjects in the 35-44 year group had more than 28 teeth and 100% subjects had more than 20 teeth, with an average of 29.88 teeth remaining and no edentulous jaw. The average remaining teeth was 26.06 in the group of 55-64 year, with 87.50% subjects having more than 20 teeth, 59.03% subjects having 28 or more teeth, 4.16% subjects having single edentulous jaw arch, and 1.04% subjects having both edentulous jaw arch. 73.96% and 35.07% subjects in the group of 65-74 year had 20 above or 28 above remaining teeth, respectively, and the average teeth was 22.94. There were 8.34% subjects having single edentulous jaw arch and 1.39% subjects having both edentulous jaws. In the 35-44 and 65-74 year group, the prevalence of missing teeth in the female was significantly higher than the male (P < 0.05), while no significant difference was found between urban and rural areas (P > 0.05). More remaining teeth were noticed in current survey (2015) when compared to the data in 2005 (P < 0.05). Conclusion The 35-44 year people have few lost teeth, and over half of the elderly people have several lost teeth. Elderly people with edentulous arch are very few.

Objective To investigate the application value of determining the levels of biochemical indexes of bone metabolism in the early diagnosis of middle and old age osteoporosis. Methods 241 middle and old aged individuals undergoing the physical exami-nation in the health management center of our hospital from October 2012 to October 2013 were selected, determined the bone min-eral density(BMD)of the lumbar spine and divided into the normal bone mass group(n=66),osteopenia group(n=58),osteoporosis group(n= 63 )and severe osteoporosis group(n =54)according to the different BMD.The serum levels of bone-specific alkaline phosphatase(B-ALP),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b(TRACP5b)were detected. The detection values of biochemical markers of bone metabolism in the four groups were statistically analyzed. Results There were sta-tistically significant differences in the serum levels of TRACP5b,B-ALP and IGF-1 among the four groups(P <0.05).The serum levels of TRACP5b,B-ALP and IGF-1 also had statistically significant differences between the osteopenia group, osteoporosis group and severe osteoporosis group with the normal bone mass group too(P <0.05);the serum levels of TRACP5b and B-ALP were in-creased with the decrease of bone mass(P <0.05),while the serum level of IGF-1 was decreased with the decrease of bone mass(P<0.05).Conclusion Detecting the serum levels of TRACP5b,B-ALP and IGF-1 is conducive to the early diagnosis of middle and old age primary osteoporosis.

RÉSUMÉ

The effects of the serum vitamin C levels on the activity and isozyme pattern of serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in males and females in their middle and old age were examined.
There was no siginificant correlation among the total serum, LDH activity and serum vitamin C levels in the 87 male and 83 female ranging from 45 to 84 years of age. However, high inverse correlations were found among the percentage of LDH-4 and LDH-5 and serum vitamin C levels all of age groups (45-59 years of age group, 60-69 years of age group and over 70 years of age group) of males and females.
These results suggest that the percentage of LDH-4 and LDH-5 are influenced by the vitamin C intake in males and females in their middle and old age.
