RÉSUMÉ

Sterility testing as described in the pharmacopoeia compendia requires a 14-day incubation period to obtain an analytical result. Alternative methods that could be applied to evaluating product sterility are especially interesting due to the possibility of reducing this incubation period and thus the associated costs. The aims of this study were to evaluate the performance of the BacT/ALERTR 3D system in detecting microorganisms in large-volume parenteral solutions that were intentionally contaminated and to compare this system to pharmacopoeia sterility testing using the membrane filtration method. The results indicated that there were no significant differences between the methods regarding the ability to detect microbial contamination; however, detection with the BacT/ALERTR 3D system was faster compared to the pharmacopoeia method. Therefore, the BacT/ALERTR 3D system is a viable alternative for assessing the sterility of injectable products.

RÉSUMÉ

Objective To introduce the curative effect of traditional Chinese herbal parenteral solution in prevention and cure of myocardial ischemia reperfusion. Methods To summarize the recent progress in literature on treatment of myocardial ischemia reperfusion with traditional Chinese herbal injection. Results Chuanxiongzine injection, Carthami injection, Puerarin Injection, Pulse-activating injection, Brittle falsepimpernel herb injection, Xuesaitong injection, and Canfu injection have the function of treating myocardial ischemia reperfusion. The therapeutic mechanisms of these injections included protecting against oxygen-derived free radical damage, inhibiting cadiocyte apoptosis, preserving cardic muscle, and inhibiting inflammation and calcium overload in the process of reperfusion. Conclusion Chinese herbal parenteral solution has a substantial curative effect in treating myocardial ischemia reperfusion.

Las infecciones nosocomiales ocurren durante las 48-72 horas después del ingreso a un centro de salud o luego de un periodo definido tras el alta, uno de los vehículos para este tipo de infección son las soluciones parenterales (SP) y los medicamentos en frascos multidosis (FMD). Se determinó la frecuencia de contaminación extrínseca de SP y FMD en algunos servicios de hospitalización del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario “Ruiz y Páez” en Ciudad Bolívar-Venezuela. Se analizaron 95 SP y 82 FMD para un total de 177 muestras, las cuales se cultivaron y los microorganismos aislados fueron identificados a través de pruebas bioquímicas convencionales. De las 177 muestras evaluadas, 42 (23,73%) presentaron crecimiento de microorganismos. El 27,36% de las SP y el 19,51% de los FMD resultaron contaminados. Los microorganismos más frecuentemente aislados fueron Bacillus sp. (55,30%), Candida albicans (14,88%) y Staphylococcus coagulasa negativos (8,52%). Se concluyó que durante el periodo estudiado en las soluciones parenterales predominó la contaminación por microorganismos ambientales, mientras que las levaduras predominaron en los frascos multidosis especialmente en los de sulfato de magnesio.


Nosocomial infections occur during the 48-72 hours after admission to a health centre or after a defined period after discharge, one of the vehicles for this type of infection are the parenterals solutions (PS) and parenteral drugs in multidose vials (MDV). We determinated the prevalence of extrinsic contamination of PS and MDV hospitalization in some services of the Hospital Universitario “Ruiz and Páez” in Ciudad Bolívar-Venezuela. We analyzed 95 PS and 82 MDV for a total of 177 samples, which were cultivated and isolated microorganisms were identified by conventional biochemical tests. Of the 177 samples tested, 42 (23.73%) had growth of microorganisms. The 27.36% of the PS and the 19.51% of MDV were contaminated. The most commonly isolated microorganisms were Bacillus sp. (55.30%), Candida albicans (14.88%) and coagulase negative Staphylococcus (8.52%). It was concluded that during the period studied in parenteral solutions prevailing contamination by environmental microorganisms, while yeast predominated in especially in multidose vials of magnesium sulfate.

@#ObjectiveTo observe the effects of XinShu parenteral solution (XSPS) on the activation of platelet, the activity of fibrinolysis system after intima denudation of rabbits.Methods20 male Japanese white rabbits (2.5±0.5)kg were randomly divided into the control group and XSPS group .The celiac arterial endothelium of all rabbits were denuded with balloon. Before the operation and 3d, 7d, after balloon denudation, vein blood samples were obtained from each group rabbits for measurement of α granule membrane protein of platelets(GMP-140), tissue-type plasminogen activator(t-PA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor-type Ⅰ(PAI-1).ResultsPlasma GMP-140 and PAI-1 activity obviously elevated after balloon injury, and there was a little elevation in plasma t-PA activity in control group. Activity of plasma GMP-140 in XSPS group remained bottom level after balloon injury, and there was a significant increase in plasma t-PA activity and a marked reduce in PAI-1 activity in XSPS group. There was a notable difference between group B and group C (P<0.05). ConclusionXSPS obviously inhibits platelet activation, and improves fibrinolysis activity after balloon injury.

@#ObjectiveTo study the effect of menbranous milkvetch root parenteral solution on insulin resistance of gerontism cerebral infarction in recovery stage.Methods66 patients with gerontism cerebral infarction were randomly divided into therapy group(33 cases) which received membranous milkvetch root parenteral solution and control group(33 cases).Both groups adopted routine treatment at the same time, the period was 20 days. Insulin(Ins), free blood sugar(FBS), total cholesterol(CH), triglyceride(TG), hemorheology and insulin resistance(indicating by index of insulin sensitive) of blood on empty stomach were evalutated before and after treatment. ResultsAfter treatment there was decrease in CH, FBS, FINS in therapy group than in control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05); the clinical effect in therapy group was better than in control group(P<0.01).ConclusionMembranous milkvetch root parenteral solution can significantly decrease insulin resistance, blood lipin, blood viscosity in recovery stage of gerontism cerebral infarction, and improve clinical efficiency.

Objective:To investigate the inhibition of Eleo-Zedoary solution to human endometrial cancer cell line RL-952 in vitro and its possible mechanism.Methods:Using the MTT assay to display the sensitivity to the drug,the inhibition of Eleo-Zedoary parenteral solution to RL-952 cells in vitro was observed;and using light microscope and transmission electron microscope,the morphological alterations of the cells were observed.Results:The inhibition rate of Eleo-Zedoary parenteral solution to RL-952 indicated both dose-dependent and time-dependent anti-proliferative effect.Microscopically,the large vacuoles in the cytoplasm of the cells were found.Ultramicroscopically,many fat-like drops and obvious swelling of organelles as well as the mitochondrial cristaes in the cytoplasm of cells were observed.In addition the nucleus concentration and the chromatin fragmentation and coagulation,including the apoptotic bodies were observed.Conclusion:Eleo-Zedoary parenteral solution can inhibit the proliferation of human endometrial cancer cell line RL-952 by induing apoptosis and secondary necrosis.
