Methods One hundred and twenty female patients with chloasma of liver depression and qi stagnation type were randomized to treatment and control groups, 60 cases each. The control group received Dong's extra-point pricking bloodletting therapy and the treatment group, conventional acupuncture. The symptom and sign score was recorded in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results The total efficacy rate was 95.5% in the treatment group and 81.7% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The pre-/post-treatment symptom and sign score difference value was (0.98±0.23) in the treatment group and (0.81±0.18) in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Dong's extra-point pricking bloodletting therapy is an effective way to treat female chloasma of liver depression and qi stagnation type.

Both groups were first given bloodletting at Ear apex and Helix 4. Then the treatment group received multi-functional fire needling plus auricular plaster therapy and the control group, auricular plaster therapy alone. The symptom and sign score was recorded in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the symptom and sign score in the two groups (P<0.01). There was a statistically significant post-treatment difference in the symptom and sign score between the two groups (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate and the cure and marked efficacy rate were 98.6% and 88.7%, respectively, in the treatment group and 93.2% and 60.8%, respectively, in the control group. There was a statistically significant difference in the cure and marked efficacy rate between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Multi-functional fire needling plus auricular plaster therapy is an effective way to treat moderate to severe acne vulgaris.

Résumé

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus ashi point pricking bloodletting in treating acute gouty arthritis. Methods Seventy patients with acute gouty arthritis were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 38 cases and a control group of 32 cases. The treatment group received acupuncture plus ashi point pricking bloodletting and the control group, routine medication. Blood uric acid and C reaction protein contents were measured in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There were statistically significant differences in blood uric acid and C reaction protein contents after one and two courses of treatment compared with before treatment in the two groups (P<0.01). After two courses of treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in comparing C reaction protein contents between the two groups (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate was 84.2% in the treatment group and 81.3% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture plus ashi point pricking bloodletting is an effective way to treat acute gouty arthritis.

Résumé

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy for post-stroke limb sensory disturbance. Methods Ninety patients with post-stroke limb sensory disturbance were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 45 cases each. The treatment group received acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy and the control group, acupuncture alone. The disease and motor function were scored in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the disease score and the motor function score in the two groups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in the disease score and the motor function score between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate was 91.1% in the treatment group and 66.7% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions Acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy is an effective way to treat post-stroke sensory disturbance. It can improve the clinical symptoms and motor function in the patients.

Résumé

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Jin’s Three Needles plus twelve Jing-Well points in treating post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome. Methods Sixty patients meeting the inclusion criteria of post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 30 cases each. The treatment group received acupuncture with Jin’s Three Needles plus twelve Jing-Well points and the control group, conventional acupuncture. The Clinical Neurological Disfunction Scale (CNDS) score, the Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) score, the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score and the Functiional Comprehensive Assessment (FCA) score were observed in the two groups before and after two weeks of treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the CNDS, FMA, VAS and FCA scores in the two groups (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate and the cure and marked efficacy rate were 96.7%and 55.7%in the combination group, respectively, in the treatment group and 83.3%and 26.7%, respectively, in the control group;there were statistically significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). Résumé

@#Objective To explore the anti- inflammatory of pricking blood therapy in acute gouty arthritis rats. Methods 60 Sprague-Dawley rats were equally divided into normal group, bloodletting normal group, sham group, arthritis group, bloodletting group and ibuprofen group. The acute gouty arthritis model was established with injecting uric acid sodium salt into the right ankle joint cavity. The ibuprofen group was administrated with ibuprofen intragastrically, the bloodletting normal group and bloodletting group were pricked the right Kunlun (BL60) acupoint. The cross section diameter of the right ankle joint were measured before and after treatment. Levels of mRNA and protein of interleukin (IL)-10 and IL-4 expressed in ankle were determined with RT-PCR and Western blotting Results The cross section diameter increased in the bloodletting group compared with the normal group after treatment (P<0.05), and decreased (P<0.05) compared with the arthritis group and the ibuprofen group, while the expression of IL-10 mRNA increased (P<0.05) compared with the normal group, the arthritis group and the ibuprofen group, as well as the IL-10 protein compared with the normal group and the arthritis group (P< 0.05). The expression of IL-4 mRNA and protein increased without significance (P>0.05) in the bloodletting group compared with the normal group. Conclusion IL-10 may play a role of anti-inflammatory in pricking bloodletting therapy for acute gouty arthritis.
