Résumé

Chondroid syringoma is a sweat gland tumor which is composed of a mixture of epithelial cells and mesenchymal tissue. It is referred to as a mixed tumors. Mixed tumor with follicular, sebaceous and apocrine differentiation are considered to be an expression of the common embryologic origin of elements of the folliculosebaceous-apocrine unit. A 74 year-old man presented with an asymptomatic, firm, pigmented nodule on the right cheek. Histologically, it showed numerous aggregates of cuboid epithelial cells with tubuloalveolar structures and keratinous cysts within a chondroid stroma. This was consistent with a chondroid syringoma. We herein describe an unusual chondroid syringoma with folliculosebaceous-apocrine differentiation.

Résumé

Mixed tumor of the skin, so called chondroid syringoma, is a benign epithelial neoplasm with glandular or ductal differentiation surrounded by myxoid stroma. It is most frequently located on the head and neck and presents as an asymptomatic, firm, subcutaneous nodule. Mixed tumor with follicular, sebaceous and apocrine differentiation is considered as an expression of the common embryologic origin of elements of the folliculo-sebaceous-apocrine unit. We report a case of mixed tumor of the skin with follicular, sebaceous and apocrine differentiation.

Résumé

Apocrine poroma is a benign cutaneous adnexal neoplasm differentiating in the direction of sebaceous and apocrine glands, and follicular germs. The clinical appearance of apocrine poroma is not distinctive, and the histologic finding is similar to that of eccrine poroma, which is typified by proliferation of poroid and luminal cells in continuity with the epidermis. But sebaceous, apocrine or follicular differentiation may also be found in the case of apocrine poroma. We herein report a case of apocrine poroma on the scalp. This case exhibited apocrine and sebaceous differentiation, and connection to an adjacent follicular epithelium.

Résumé

Chondroid syringoma is referred as mixed tumor because it has epithelial structure and mesenchymal elements. Mixed tumors could be divided into two distinct types, eccrine and apocrine. Mixed tumor with follicular, sebaceous and apocrine differentiation is considered as an expression of the common embryologic origin of elements of the folliculosebaceous-apocrine unit. A 32-year old manpresented with an asymptomatic firm erythematous nodule on the left cheek. Histologically, it showed typical features of chondroid syringoma with tubules exhibiting branching and cystic dilatation in the myxoid and chondroid stroma. Our case is unique in that the tumor arose from follicular infundibulum with follicular, sebacesous and apocrine differentiation.
