Lumbar disc herniation(LDH) is a kind of common and frequently-occurring disease which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.About 60% lumbocrural pain resulted from LDH.Chemical ablation is one of the non-vascular interventional procedures for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation in clinical minimally invasive treatment. It has many advantages such as minimally invasive, effective, low cost, and relieves or cures the pain of patients with lumbar disc herniation. This minimally invasive procedure has the interdisciplinarity characteristics with pain medicine, regional anatomy, radiography and pharmacology, which has been progressively developing from intra-lumbar intervertebral disc injection with oxidized nucleus pulposus, lumbar intervertebral disc with collagenase injection and psoas com-partment block to combined treatment. From C-arm X-ray system guided to CT and MSCT-guided which has the advantages of TLCS,precise localization,three-dimensional reconstruction, safe and rapid and guided treatment.Meanwhile, chemical ablation has serious complications, and the substance use and drug dosage have not been unified. In order to help the medic understand the development of this technology,we re-viewed chemical ablation to serve the patient better.

Objective To investigate the application of lower limb electromyography in guiding preoperative localization for multiple segment intervertebral disc herniation treated with ozone injection and in predicting the curative efficacy. Methods A total of 51 patients with MRI-proved multiple segment lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, who were admitted to authors' hospital during the period from January 2012 to December 2013 and who had complete clinical materials, were included in this study.Guided by DSA,intradiscal injection of ozone together with the injection of ozone plus compound betamethasone and bupivacaine into the space around the spinal nerve was carried out in all patients. The degree of lower lumbago was evaluated with M-JOA score, and Oswestry disability index (ODI) was adopted to assess the curative effect. Results Preoperative electromyography showed that 43 patients had nerve root injury, the positive rate was 84.3%.The positive HIZ sign was detected in 30 patients, with the positive rate being 58.8%.The positive Modic sign was observed in 24 patients, the positive rate was 47.1%.Postoperative MJOA scores indicated that one-,3-and 6-month effective rates were 90.1%,86.2% and 78.5% respectively;and postoperative ODI values showed that one-,3-and 6-month effective rates were 87.3%,79.5% and 74.6% respectively. Conclusion In treating multiple segment intervertebral disc hemiation with ozone injection, lower limb electromyography is very valuable in accurately making preoperative localization as well as in precisely predicting the curative efficacy, thus this technique is worth popularizing in clinical practice.

Objective Preparation of a stable and reliable atrioventricular blockage ( AVB) animal model is of great im-portance to anti-arrhythmic drugs and biological engineering research .The aim of the article was to establish a rat model of AVB in-duced by chemical ablation, providing an effective animal model for the development of new drugs . Methods 60 adult SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups(n=15): normal saline (NS) group, Verapmil (Ver) group, chemical ablation group 1 and chemical ablation group 2.0.9%NaCl (5 mg/kg) was injected into caudal vein of each rat in NS group .Verapmil (5 mg/kg) was injected into the caudal vein in Ver group.Anhydrous ethanol(50μL)was injected into atrioventricular groove area in chemical abla-tion group 1.Anhydrous ethanol(50μL) was injected into atrioventricular node area in chemical ablation group 2.The electrocardio-grams of the rats were examined by electrophysiological recorder.HE staining and Connexin 43 (CX43) immunohistochemical tech-nique were applied to atrioventricular junctions of the rats . Results A rat model of AVB was successfully established .Compared with NS group([45 ±2.24]per field of view), there was a significant decrease in the CX43 expressions of chemical ablation group 1 and group 2 ([15.20 ±2.23]per field of view, [22.10 ±4.70]per field of view)(P animal model for the research and development of new anti-arrhythmic drugs.
