Résumé

Objective To investigate the effects of volatile organic compounds escaped from alkyd dope on neurotransmitter content in the brain of mice. Methods 56 BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 7 groups,8 in each and exposed to volatile organic compounds(30 mg/m3)escaped from alkyd dope by dynamic inhalation exposure. The neurotransmitters(cholines, monoamines, amino acids)in the brain were determined during the period of exposure and comeback. Results Compared with the control,DA,5-HT,NE and Glu significantly decreased and Gly,GABA significantly increased during the period of exposure, however NE still kept significant decrease during the period of comeback. Conclusion Volatile organic compounds escaped from alkyd dope may cause neurochemical change in mice.

Résumé

Tolylene Diisocyanate (TDI) is the important industrial material in producing polyurethane dope. In recent years, with the development of fitment, polyurethane product was widely used. During the procedure in production and usage, TDI is dissociated from polyurethane production and will pollute indoor air. TDI is highly volatile and can irritate the skin, mucous membranes, eyes, nose and throat. The most common and most serious response occurs in the lungs. Thus, in many countries, the limit for TDI has been established and put into practice, in China the work for establishing limit for TDI in indoor air has been doing also. The character of TDI and harmfulness to human, the limit for TDI in indoor air in China and in the other countries, the measurements to control TDI pollution were reviewed in the present paper

Résumé

Objective To investigate the current formaldehyde pollution levels in the decoration materials in Beijing. Methods Some of the detecting samples were collectted selectively by sampling and some were provided by the manufacturers voluntarily. The contents of formaldehyde in the samples were determined according to the National Standard Detecting Method for the threshold of harmful substances in decoration materials. Results The emission levels of formaldehyde in 15 of 27 man-made board samples were higher than 1.5 mg/L and the rate exceeding the national standard was 56%. The formaldehyde emission level from 1 of the 4 wall-dope samples was higher than the national standard. In 7 gooey samples, the content of formaldehyde in 1 sample was higher than the national standard. The detecting results of 3 wallpaper samples were all accorded with the national hygienic standard. Conclusion The results of this investigation indicated that some problems did exist in the current decoration materials made in our country. The relatively serious problem among them was that the emission level of formaldehyde from the man-made boards and its related products was much higher than the national standard.
