Résumé

Evodiamine(EVO)is an indoloquinazoline alkaloid isolated from the fruits of Euodia rutaecarpa, which has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat various diseases.Modern medical research shows that evodiamine has various pharmacological activities and extremely high medicinal value such as anti-inflammation,anti-tumor,losing weight, treating Alzheimer's,and antibacterium.Evodiamine can interact with a variety of proteins. For example, the interaction between evodiamine and TRPV1 induces its activation to exert anti-inflammatory and losing weight; the interaction with DNA topoisomerase I inhibits its function and thus inhibit bacterial proliferation; the interaction with tubulin promotes NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and exerts anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory functions. In recent years, with the in-depth study of evodiamine, pharmacological research and mechanism of evodiamine has significant improvement.Recent progress of pharmacological effect of evodiamine is highlighted in this review.

Résumé

Target discovery is the core of elucidating the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine( TCM),and it is also the key to correlate the chemical composition and pharmacological action of TCM. The traditional target screening methods such as the activitybased probe profiling, affinity chromatography, and protein microarray are commonly used in the past, however, which are limited in TCM due to the complexity of small molecules existed in the herbal medicine. The label-free small molecule probe is a recently well-applied technology in the target discovery of natural products, which is characterized by discovering the small molecule-protein ligation without any structural modification at the ligands, and is therefore suitable to the complex chemical constituents in TCM. Furthermore, this method is conducted on the basis of proteome, which is advanced in the discovery of new or multiple target proteins of TCM. Owing to the potential of label-free probe in the target discovery of TCM,its analytical principle, application status, and general protocol were reviewed in this paper. The label-free probe technology is anticipated to accelerate the mechanism-uncovering of TCM.

Résumé

Infection with human papillomaviruses (HPVs) is a major public health burden worldwide and is associated with a variety of epithelial lesions, including benign warts and several types of anogenital tumours, particularly cervical carcinoma. From available data it is clear that members of the HPV family are important human pathogens. Prevention or elimination of these infections would not only benefit the numerous patients with benign lesions, but ultimately should reduce the incidence of cervical cancer and possibly other epithelial cancers as well. Although prophylactic vaccines to block genital HPV infection have become available, it is not certain if they would be of benefit to those already infected. Therefore, the enormous and growing population of infected individuals would benefit from papillomavirus-specific therapy. In this review, we will discuss the functions of the viral proteins that appear to be the most appropriate for the development of therapeutics aimed at the treatment of viral infection and virusinduced cancers.
