Introducción: El éxito académico de la educación universitaria depende en gran medida de la calidad del desempeño de sus docentes. Para lograr un buen desempeño docente se requiere una formación profesional especializada y sistemática. Objetivo: Evaluar el desempeño del docente desde la percepción de los estudiantes. Métodos: El instrumento utilizado fue el cuestionario de opinión del estudiante sobre la docencia, compuesto por 40 reactivos, repartidos en nueve dimensiones. Se evaluaron 160 cuestionarios, donde los análisis estadísticos permitieron la obtención de porcentajes, medidas de tendencia central y de variabilidad, comparación de muestras y de análisis factorial, los análisis estadísticos se llevaron a cabo mediante el programa SPSS, versión 21.Resultados: Se presentó los resultados de la aplicación del Cuestionario de Opinión del Estudiante sobre la Docencia, en la asignatura Histología y Embriología de la Escuela de Medicina de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, Universidad de Carabobo. Conclusiones: Con los datos obtenidos tenemos que la asignatura Histología y Embriología presenta un cuerpo docente que exhibe un alto desempeño en sus actividades relacionadas con el proceso de enseñanza-prendizaje(AU)


Introduction: Academic success in university education largely depends on the quality of the teacher's performance. To achieve good teaching performance specialized and systematic professional training is required. Objective: To evaluate the teacher's performance based on the student's perception. Methods: The instrument used was the questionnaire of the student's opinion about teaching, made up by 40 items, divided into nine dimensions. A total of 160 questionnaires were evaluated, in which statistical analysis allowed obtaining percentages, measures of central tendency and variability, comparison of samples and factorial analysis. The statistical analyzes were carried out through the SPSS program, version 21. Results: The results of the application of the Student's Opinion Questionnaire on Teaching were presented in the subject Histology and Embryology of the School of Medicine of the Health Sciences School at University of Carabobo. Conclusions: With the obtained data, we concluded that the subject Histology and Embryology presents a faculty that shows high performance in their activities related to the teaching-learning process(AU)

RÉSUMÉ

Objective To explore the application of multimedia situational teaching in general surgery . Methods A total of 142 students with a five-year undergraduate program in clinical medicine from school year 2014 to 2015 were selected as the observation group to undergo situational teaching, while 155 students with the same program from school year 2015 to 2016 as the control group to adopt the traditional teaching. In the observation group, the pathophysiological changes, clinical signs, differential diagnosis and surgical complications of the disease were created. Specifically, the anatomic structure and pathophysiological changes of the disease were demonstrated in multi-dimensional and three-dimensional forms by animation, the physical pictures and clinical signs of patients were used to show the clinical signs of diseases, and video and photographs of the operation were used to create scenarios of complications during the operation. The teaching evaluation included students' written examination results and questionnaires which covered whether the students satisfied with the situational teaching method, and their evaluation of teachers and personal gains, etc. T test was performed by using SPSS 21.0. Results The average test score of the observation group (67.56±8.27) was significantly higher than that of the control group (65.89±5.53) (P<0.05). The satisfaction rate of students towards situational teaching and their personal achievements were both 97.9% (139/142). Conclusion The multimedia situational teaching is specific and vivid, which can improve students' learninginterest and teaching effect. However, it also bears higher requirements for teachers, con-sequently the application should of specific purpose.

INTRODUCCIÓN: las universidades médicas cubanas tienen en los análisis sistemáticos de sus índices de promoción por asignaturas, disciplinas, semestres, años y carreras; un procedimiento gerencial y científico de retroalimentación y perfeccionamiento sistemático de su eficiencia y eficacia académicas. OBJETIVOS: indagar en aquellas variables de mayor incidencia en la determinación de la promoción y diseñar un modelo para los análisis de promoción. MÉTODOS: se trabajó con el universo de directivos del proceso docente y de profesores titulares de la universidad de ciencias médicas de Villa Clara; de los cuales se tomó mediante muestreo intencional un total de 27 profesores titulares y ocho directivos. Se aplicaron procedimientos teóricos y empíricos pertinentes. RESULTADOS: se identificaron cinco variables de utilidad para los análisis de promoción y un conjunto de indicadores por variables para orientar este proceso. Además se determinó un conjunto de ideas que pueden llegar a conformar estándares de calidad de estos análisis. CONCLUSIONES: se diseñó y elaboró un modelo para la realización de los análisis de promoción desde una concepción más abarcadora y sustentado en criterios científicos y metodológicos propios de la dirección del proceso docente educativo del pregrado de las ciencias médicas; con el cual se pretende aportar nuevos elementos de análisis que tributan a la eficiencia y eficacia académicas.


INTRODUCTION: In Cuba, Medical Schools follow a managerial procedure, a scientific feedback, academic efficiency and efficacy. This is achieved by a systematic analysis in every subject, semesters, years, and careers. OBJECTIVE: To conduct a research in variables of more impact that affect or determine the promotion of students, and to design a new method to analyze the quality of the educational system. METHOD: The research was conducted with the help of Honorific professors from the Medical School in Villa Clara. A total of 27 Full Professor and 8 staff members, each of them were intentionally selected. It was applied theoretical and empirical procedures. RESULT: Five variables were identified that are useful when analyzing the promotion of students. In consequence, it was found a set of pointers in each variable that are helpful to guide this process. Besides that, several ideas from this research were recognized as quality standards in this study. CONCLUSION : It was designed and elaborated a new method with the purpose of analyzing the promotion of students from a wide point of view. The new system is embraced and supported by scientific and methodological criteria. The main goal is to bring new elements that would support the academic efficiency and efficacy.

As the burden of anesthesiology teaching is heavy in undergraduate course, teachers can communicate with the students by nonverbal behaviors, such as eye contact, silent language, facial expression, paralanguage, which can make class atmosphere active, develop harmonious teacher-student relationship, and improve the quality of class teaching. Teachers of anesthesiology should take some measures, such as rehearsing lessons, summing up the experience of the lessons in time, accu-mulating the experience of nonverbal behaviors, and doing some exercise for the nonverbal behavior as much as possible, so as to set up an excellent atmosphere for teaching ,and meanwhile improve the quality of anesthesiology teaching.

Introducción: al diseñarse el Plan de Estudio de Medicina en la década de los 80, se incorporaron con prioridad las denominadas disciplinas socio-médicas: Epidemiología, Teoría y Administración de Salud y Medicina General Integral. Incluir el Análisis de Situación de Salud (ASIS) como eje conductor de esas disciplinas, en un modelo o esquema formativo utilizado desde el inicio del nuevo plan de estudio, constituyó una gran oportunidad metodológica. Objetivo: revisar críticamente la utilidad y aplicación de ese modelo desde su implementación hasta la actualidad, en función de los cambios y modificaciones que interfirieron con la calidad del proceso de enseñanza sobre el tema. Material y Métodos: para este análisis crítico, se utilizaron técnicas cualitativas básicas: revisión de documentos (programas y planes formativos) y entrevistas a expertos directivos docentes y profesores en diferentes Facultades de Ciencias Médicas. Resultados: se destaca el hallazgo de las modificaciones metodológicas del modelo, sustentadas en los cambios que se efectuaron por los colectivos profesorales, unos positivos como la elaboración de una Guía única y otros no tanto, como el esquema para su elaboración propuesto en 1994, no totalmente aplicado. Conclusiones: se reconoció el ASIS como un instrumento útil para el desempeño del egresado y muy pertinente el diseño y aplicación del modelo formativo a partir de 1988, aunque actualmente en el proceso docente, se detecten debilidades e insuficiencias que afectan su calidad y que definitivamente, deberán eliminarse.


Introduction: in designing the medical curriculum in the 80's, it was consider to remark the socio-medical disciplines as: Epidemiology, Theory and Health Administration and General Medicine. This decision offer a great methodological opportunity to include the Health Situation Analysis (HSA) as the guiding of these disciplines, based on a model to develop the initial training into the new curriculum. Objective: the objective of this study was to review critically the utility and application of this model since its implantation to the present, according to changes and modifications that interfering with the quality of the teaching process about this issue. Material and Methods: a critical analysis was made, based on qualitative technics like document revisal (programs and teaching plans) and interviews to experts decision makers and professors in different Faculties of Medical Sciences. Results: among the results of the review, the findings highlight the changes on methodological model, referred to the modifications were made by various groups of professors, some positive and some not so. For example, it´s consider positive a unique Metodological Guide and it´s consider a negative result, the scheme elaborated at 1994 and no totally applied. Conclusions: as an important conclusion, it was recognized the HSA as a useful instrument for graduate´s performance and neccesary the design and application for the training model from 1988, but today, in this teaching process, weaknesses and shortcomings are detected, that it´s affecting quality and must be eliminated.

Clinical medicine is a practical discipline.Students combine theoretical knowledge with practical operation and develop clinical thinking at stage of clinical practice.From the perspective of education administration,a series of measures were carried out throughout the whole teaching in clinical internship in our university.Students were trained to gain the abilities of combing knowledge with practice,analyzing and solving issues individually and thinking logically and scientifically.Through years of research and practice,remarkable achievements were gained and both clinical skill and comprehensive quality of our students were greatly enhanced.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of using problem-based learning in nursing clinical teaching in the obstetrics and gynecology department.Methods Sixty-six nursing students were randomly divided into PBL group and lecture-based learning(LBL)group .At the end of their internship,the two groups were compared in terms of examination performance,learning attitude and aptitude,and their feedback on the two learning modes.Results The students in the PBL group were significantly better than those in the control group in terms of examination performance,learning attitude and aptitude,and their feedback on the learning mode(P<0.001).Conclusions PBL may be effective in the improvement of their attitude to learning and aptitude,the comprehensive ability.It can provide an environment to promote internal learning motivation for students.

Objective Investigate and intervene the psychological health state of clinical trainees in the hospital of Yuxi City, in order to explore the method to improve the psychological health and clinical quality of teaching. Methods From 2009 to 2013, clinical trainees were investigated by SCL-90. Intervention for interns included holding psychological health lectures and making psychological counseling for the serious interns. At the same time, the teachers were trained to carry out two-way intervention between the teachers and clinic interns and to improve clinical interns' psychological health. Results Before the intervention,among 216 interns,34 (15.74%) showed positive. Except fear factor, other factors were significantly different than national norms ( <0.05). After the intervention, among 149 interns, 20 ( 13.42%) showed positive. Obsessive-compulsive symptom, depression,anxiety,hostility, spirit factors and the mean scores were all lower than before ( <0.05),similar to the national norm.Conclusion Clinical trainees have prominent psychological problems. Teaching hospitals should pay more attention to psychological health of them. Intervention is necessary and effective in improving psychological health and quality of teaching.

Se realizó una investigación descriptiva y transversal, a fin de evaluar la calidad de los programas de estudio de las asignaturas Fuentes de Información, Sistema de Clasificación de Documentos y Descripción Bibliográfica I, impartidas en el perfil Sistema de Información en Salud en la Facultad de Tecnología de la Salud "Juan Manuel Páez Inchausti" de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Santiago de Cuba. Para obtener la información se diseñaron y aplicaron encuestas a los estudiantes, las que contenían determinados aspectos de interés asociados a las características del proceso de impartición de las citadas materias. Las referencias teóricas permitieron efectuar un análisis integrador de los datos obtenidos en función del instrumento evaluativo elaborado para la educación superior y validado al efecto. Se logró valorar el desarrollo y la estructuración de cada diseño curricular, así como el criterio de los alumnos sobre la asimilación de los contenidos de dichas materias, y se concluyó que el sistema de evaluación seleccionado permite certificar cualitativamente y cuantitativamente la calidad de estos y definir para cada modelo de formación aquellas deficiencias del proceso docente-educativo con solución viable.


A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in order to evaluate the curricula quality of the subjects Information Sources, Documents Classification System and Literature Description I, taught in Health Information System at "Juan Manuel Páez Inchausti" Faculty of Health Technology of the Medical University in Santiago de Cuba. To obtain the information surveys to students were designed and applied, containing some interesting aspects associated with the characteristics of the teaching process of those mentioned disciplines. The theoretical references allowed to make an integrative analysis of the data obtained on the basis of the evaluative instrument developed for higher education and validated for this purpose. It was possible to evaluate the development and structure of each curriculum, as well as the opinions of students about the assimilation of the contents of such matters. It was concluded that the selected evaluation system allows to certify qualitatively and quantitatively the quality of these curricula and define in each model of training those deficiencies of the educational process with a viable solution.

Objetivo general: Establecer la opinión estudiantil y docente sobre la actuación docente, en la Carrera de Medicina, Facultad de Medicina, Enfermería, Nutrición y Tecnología Médica, U.M.S.A. Diseño: Corte transversal, por encuesta. Población de estudio. 619 estudiantes y 49 docentes de la carrera de medicina. Métodos y mediciones: Se ha utilizado un instrumento que fue el producto de una investigación sobre la evaluación docente en 17 universidades españolas ( cuestionario Likert de 39 items y 8 categorías). Se trabajó con un alfa del 0.05. El muestreo se tomó de manera accidental. Se realizó el siguiente análisis: a cálculo y comparación de las frecuencias de las categorías y b. cálculo y comparación del promedio aritmético en ítems y categorías, en docentes y estudiantes. Resultados y conclusiones: Se han realizado preguntas tipo Likert con el siguiente rango de medida: valor mínimo negativo 1 y valor máximo positivo 5. Las frecuencias encontradas en docentes y estudiantes, fueron las siguientes: 1=7.02 por ciento, 2=23.72 por ciento, 3=46.66 por ciento, 4=19.84 por ciento, 5=2.76 por ciento. El promedio general de los dos estamentos fue de 3.78, los docentes alcanzaron un valor general de 4.28 y los estudiantes de 2.88. La opinión positiva de docentes y estudiantes muestran la conformidad con el servicio brindado, no obstante existen diferencias marcadas entre la opinión de estudiantes y docentes, mostrando que se deben realizar acciones correctivas en las categorías de "cumplimiento de obligaciones" y "prácticas", estos resultados son apoyados por la parte cualitativa del estudio. Se han generado dos categorías cualitativas de interés: a. el pedido de estandarizar: los objetivos de aprendizaje, el tiempo, las formas de enseñanza, la evaluación, b. la necesidad de realizar la individualización de cada docente, ya que la gran limitante para este estudio fue la generalidad.


General Objective: To establish the opinion of students and teachers on the action of teaching in the medical career of the Medical School, School of Nursing, Nutrition and Medical Technology, UMSA. DesignCross section, by enquiry Study Population 619 students and 49 teachers of the medical career Methods and Measurements An instrument was used which was the product of an investigation on the evaluation of teachers in 17 Spanish universities (Lickert questionnaire of 39 items and 8 categories). We worked with an alfa of 0.05. The samples were taken in an accidental manner. The following analysis was made: a. Calculation and comparison of the frequencies of the categories and b. calculation and comparison of the arithmetic average in items and categories, in teachers and students.Results and Conclusions Questions of the Lickert type were made with the following range of measurement: minimal negative value 1, and maximal positive value 5. The following frequencies were found in students and teachers: 1 = 7.02%, 2 = 23.72%, 3 = 46.66%, 4 = 19.84%, 5 = 2.76%. The general average of the two groups was 3.78, the teachers reaching a general value of 4.28 and the students of 2.88.The positive opinion of teachers and students show the agreement with the service rendered, however there exist marked differences between the opinion of students and teachers, which shows that corrective actions need to be made in the categories "fulfillment of obligations" and "practical training". These results are supported by the qualitative part of the study. Two qualitative categories of interest were generated: a. the demand of standardization, the objectives of learning, the time, the forms of teaching, the evaluation, b. the necessity to individualize each teacher, since the great limitation for this study was the generalization.
