Résumé

Introduction: An E-Aushadhi management system based on database was introduced in urban health centre for managing stock outs. This study was conducted to assess utility of web-based drug warehouse management system in a peripheral hospital. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to assess the perceived benefits and difficulties by health care providers expected in introducing a web-based Supply Chain Management System (E-aushadhi) and to identify the factors which will govern successful transition from current system of drug logistics man-agement to web-based system. Methods and materials: In this study Focus Group Discussion was conducted with the staff members of an urban health centre who were working on a similar web-based platforms. There are four teams each comprising 3-5 members. Results: Themes and subthemes were made based on the transcripts analysed. It is perceived that with introduction of web-based drug warehouse system, accuracy of the data can be well assured as manual errors can be reduced a lot. Quality of stock maintenance will increase and will prevent stock outs Conclusion: The accuracy and transparency of drug stock maintenance will be increased while technical challenges such as internet availability, technician availability and training of personnel are perceived barriers.

Résumé

Student preparation for laboratory sessions is the first step of conducting laboratory experiments. It makes students maximize use of laboratory time and efficiently perform laboratory exercises in open labs. In view of teaching features and requirements of Microbiology experiment, we designed and developed ‘Online Student Preparation and Management System of Microbiology Experiment’, which integrated func- tions of student preparation for laboratory sessions and teacher management. In the system each experiment consists of six successive parts, viz., learning objectives, principle, materials and equipments, procedure video, manipulation simulation and online quiz. Teaching practices showed that the application of the system enhanced the preparing quality and makes the management of the experiment teaching more normalized and efficient. It was an effective measure in improving experimental teaching of Microbiology.

Résumé

Toxicogenomics has recently emerged in the field of toxicology and the DNA microarray technique has become common strategy for predictive toxicology which studies molecular mechanism caused by exposure of chemical or environmental stress. Although microarray experiment offers extensive genomic information to the researchers, yet high dimensional characteristic of the data often makes it hard to extract meaningful result. Therefore we developed toxicant enrichment analysis similar to the common enrichment approach. We also developed web-based system graPT to enable considerable prediction of toxic endpoints of experimental chemical.
