RESUMO

The study investigated some anticoccidial resistance for Amprol, Toltrazuril and sulfaclozine in experimental infected broiler. Eimeria identification depended on necropsy and coproscopic examination. 140 day-old chicks allotted into 7 groups and infected with Eimeria in 2[nd] day of age. G1: neither infected nor treated [negative control], G2: infected but not treated [positive control], Infected and treated with toltrazuril [G3], or with Amprol+Allicin [G4], or with Amprol+ethobabate [G5], or with Amprol [G6] or with Sulfaclozine [G7]. Eimeria infection caused decrease in body gain, total protein, albumin but increase in FCR, ALT, AST, Uric acid, Creatinine. Treatment decreased the harmful effect of infection but some significant differences were between infected treated groups and non infected non-treated one

RESUMO

Complement 3, complement 4, properdin; and properdin C3b complex and Complement receptors [CR] [CR1 + CR11 and FC GAMA receptors] were studied in 61 patients. [8 - 20 yr.] 26 males, 35females, from AI-Azhar University Hospitals, 14 were SLE, 47 were RA. The results obtained were compared with 24 normal control. A significant decrease in C3, C4 in SLE and RA. A non significant difference in properdin in SLE and RA. A significant increase in P-C3b complex in SLE and RA. Asignificant decrease in CR1 receptor expression on neutrophils and lymphocytes of SLE, while no change with RA. Ahigh significant increase in CR11 expression on blood lymphocytes, in SLE but a non-significant difference with RA The results of FC GAMA receptor II expression on blood cells showed non significant difference in SLE and RA. Complement CR III expression on Blood cells showed a non significant diference in RA. The results of [FC- GAMA RIII] expression on monocytes showed significant increase and on neutrophils decreased and no difference on lymphocytes of SLE patients. From the study: C3, C4, and properdin-C3b complex can be used as an indicator of activity of the disease in SLE and RA inspit of no change of properdin Level. Also in cases in which C3 level is normal [30%] of SLE. Cases. C RI expression was found decrease on neutrophils of SLE while no change on expression in RA. It is possible to say that to diagnose SLE. C3, C4, P-C3b complex and CR1 expression should be measured to confirm the diagnosis of SLE

RESUMO

Assessment of vitamin A status and beta-carotenes and an association between acute diarrhea and plasma levels of vitamin A were done. Plasma vitamin A and beta-carotenes were measured by colorimetric method of Neeld and Pearson. Eighty-four children in the age group of 6-60 months with a current history of diarrhea were studied. They were divided into two groups, one group included 22 children with recurrent diarrhea and the other one included 62 children with non- recurrent diarrhea, in addition to 56 healthy age matched children served as a control group. Children with a history of diarrhea showed significant low levels as compared with controls. Studying the odds ratio [OR] revealed that the risk for developing recurrence of diarrhea is increased if the child has a low vitamin A level or bad nutritional status
