In this study we clinically compared amniotic membrane [a biological material] and biobrane [a biosynthetic material] as a temporary skin substitute in the treatment of freshly excised burn wounds in twenty patients of different age and sex groups. The results revealed that amniotic membrane and biobrane has no systemic complications or adverse reactions and both posses excellent flexibility, conformability and ease of application and removal .The amniotic membrane has more hemostatic effect and superior in control of burn wound sepsis. In addition, the availability and ease of preparation, make amniotic membrane, ideal from the economic point of view
