Reactivity of Dehydroxynaphthalene Part I the transmission of the effect of the Hydroxyl group

PK[I]and pK[II]values in 20% [v/v] aqueous ethanol v/v have been measured for alpha and beta-naphthol together with eight dihydroxynaphthalenes. Correlation of the obtained results, the sigma [H]1 of hydroxyl protons, and the gamana [OH]of their ir-spectra with the sigma ij values gave a linear relation
