RESUMO
Trials for gene therapy were conducted on dwarf mice by using germ cells and transgenic techniques. However; the integration of the growth gene within mice genomes have led to permanent expression and mice gigantism. With the move toward the using of somatic cells instead of germ cells, two approaches were available: 1-Ex vivo gene therapy. 2- In vivo gene therapy. This article is an overview on growth gene, growth hormone and future medical applications

A total of 112 enteric bacterial pathogens isolated from human and veterinary sources were subjected to colony hybridizaiton to detect the presence within their genomic content of DNA encoding for heat-labil enterotoxins. E. Coli-derived LT gene labeled with biotin was used as a probe. Hy-bridization signals were indicated with their E. coli isolates, two V. cholerae isolates, one S. dysenteriae isolate and one K. pneumoniae isolate. The method proved accurate and of quick technicality in this local environment
