RESUMO

To assess corneal flap thickness post LASIK by using OculusHR pentacam imaging. This clinical trial included 18 eyes of 11 all patients who underwent LASIK for myopia Preoperatively, the central corneal thickness[CCT] measurement using ultrasound pachymetry [Sonomed Inc. Lake Success, NY]. Preoperatiue Oculus pentacam pachymetry and topography was done for all cases. Moria microkeratome M2 was used for creating flap using head 130. After creating the flap the corneal thickness of the remaining tissues was measured in the central point to find the thickness of flap by subtracting this value from total corneal thickness. One week post operative Pentacam imaging using the fine corneal mode 100 scan images was done covering the cornea in 360 degree in 2 seconds. The mean ultrasonic flap thickness after flap elevation was 144.72 +/- 18.6micro m. The mean flap thickness measured by pentacam was 150.28 +/- 20.3 micro m one week postoperative. Pentacam imaging is a non contact accurate method for measuring actual flap thickness postLasik

RESUMO

To compare the preoperative and postoperative measurements of intraocular pressure [IOP] using Goldmann applanation tonometry [GAT], in eyes undergoing myopic laser in situ keratomileusis [LASIK]. IOP was measured in 40 myopic eyes before and 6 months after LASIK by using [GAT]. After LASIK, there was a reduction in mean corneal pachymetry of 102micro m and in IOP measurements with GAT [3.4 mm Hg; P < .01] there is a statistically significant correlation between IOP measurements and corneal thickness. To obtain precise IOP data subsequent to refractive surgery, studies of various parameters that may impact the underestimation of the IOP are of considerable importance especially in myopic patients that have higher risk of glaucoma

RESUMO

To correlate between eye complaints of computer users and reduced blinking rate. This study was carried on 20 subjects .all were computer complaining of one or more symptom of computer vision syndrome. Rate of blinking was calculated using digital web camera during work and during casual conversation. Tear break up time and Schirmer`s test was done for all patients during work and at rest. Marked reduction in blinking rate/min from 16.5 to 4.8. Mean tear break up time changes during work was 10.85sec and at rest was 11.2 sec the mean Schirrner's test was 13.5mm during work and 12.9 at rest. Blinking rate is markedly reduced during computer using giving an interpretation for the computer vision syndrome complaints
