Amor e mito como verdade cultural e subjetiva / Love and myth as cultural and subjective truth

Em "Psicologia das massas e análise do eu", Freud questiona a dicotomia entre o individual e o coletivo, entre a cultura e a subjetividade, argumentando que o outro está sempre envolvido na vida psíquica do indivíduo. Tomamos como fio condutor a discussão empreendida por Lévi-Strauss e Lacan acerca do mito em seu papel cultural e individual. Elegemos o amor como objeto de estudo devido a seu papel fundante no que diz respeito à constituição da subjetividade e no tratamento psicanalítico e ao fato de que, na psicanálise, o amor é abordado a partir dos mitos de Narciso e de Édipo.

In Group psychology and the analysis of the ego, Freud challenges the dichotomy between the individual and the mass, culture and subjectivity, arguing that the other is always involved in the psychic life of the individual. In order to account for this path, we take as a guiding principle the discussion between Lévi-Strauss and Lacan regarding myth in its cultural and individual role. We chose love as an object of study due to its central function in the construction of subjectivity and in psychoanalytic treatment, and the fact that psychoanalysis approaches love through the myths of Narcissus and Oedipus.

Reflexões sobre o inquietante de ser portador de HIV/Aids / Reflections on the uneasiness of living with HIV/Aids

O HIV/Aids para o indivíduo parece ser representado como um estrangeiro inimigo que invade o organismo e produz efeitos da ordem do que é inquietante por reaver complexos infantis de castração, pois muitas são as novas imposições a partir desse diagnóstico: perda de peso, fragilidade imunológica, impossibilidades à relação sexual e a própria possibilidade iminente de morte. Além disso, o HIV/Aids parece trazer consigo o agravante do sexual - bem como suas representações no imaginário cultural -, pois esta é ainda hoje é uma das principais vias de contágio. É acerca desse indivíduo que se propõe pensar uma interlocução entre o diagnóstico de Aids e o sentimento de estranheza na teoria freudiana.

For the individual HIV/Aids appears to be represented as an foreigner that invades the body and produces effects on the order of what is unsettling, since it recovers childhood's castration complex. There are many new impositions from this diagnosis: weight loss, a weakened immune system, impossibilities to intercourse and the very real possibility of imminent death. Furthermore, HIV/Aids seem to carry the additional burden of a sexual element - and its representations in cultural imaginary - because today this is still a major route of infection. It is regarding this individual that we propose a dialogue between the Aids diagnosis and the feeling of weirdness in Freudian theory.
