Estudo da expansibilidade torácica em pacientes submetidos à acumpuntura tóraco-abdominal / Study of thoracic expansion in patients submited to the thoracoabdominal acupunture

As defasagens das trocas respiratórias são causadas na maioria das vezes por alterações da respiração automática e do diafragma. Diversos estudos descrevem a utilização da acupuntura na terapia das disfunções músculo-esqueléticas, no entanto, a aplicação da acupuntura na reeducação neuromuscular do diafragma tem sido pouco estudada. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi pesquisar os efeitos da estimulação em pontos de acupuntura localizados na região tóraco-abdominal e observar possiveis modificações da expansibilidade torácica em 20 voluntários, sendo 10 homens e 10 mulheres, na faixa etária entre 15 e 30 anos, sedentários, sem qualquer história de patologias cardiorrespiratórias e residentes em Uberlândia, MG, com quadros de alteração cinético-postural. Foi aplicado um protocolo de avaliação antes e após a realização da acupuntura tóraco-abdominal nos pontos R19, VC15, VC22, VB25, F13, E21 e VC17. Os dados foram submetidos à análise estatística descritiva e análise estatística não-paramétrica aplicando a prova de Wilcoxon (p<0,05). Os resultados demonstraram que em relação à amplitude respiratória, houve pouca mudança após a acupuntura, e a cirtometria não evidenciou qualquer modificação.

The imbalances of the breathing are caused most of the time by altarations of the automatic breathing and of the diaphragm. Several studies described the use of the acupuncture in the therapy of the muscle-skeletal dysfunctions; however, the application of the acupuncture en the reeducation neuromuscular of the diaphragm has been a little studied. Being like this, the objective of this work was to research the effects of the stimulation in located points of acupuncture in the thoracoabdominal area and to observe possible modifications of the expansion thoracic in 20 volunteers, being 10 men and 10 women, in the age group among 15 and 30 years, sedentaty, without and history of pathologies cardio-respiratory ande residents in Uberlândia, MG, with alteration kinetic-postural. An protocol of evaluation was applied before and after the accomplishment of the acupunture thoracoabdominal in the points R19, VC15, VC22, VB25, F13, E21 e VC17. The data were submitted to the descriptive statistical analysis and no-parametric statistical analysis applying the proof of Wilcoxon (p<0,05). The results demonstrated that in relation to the width of breathing, there was little change after the acupuncture, and the cirtometria it didn't evidence any modification.
