RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the ultrasound characteristics of benign and malignant endometrial lesions in postmenopausal women terminology. Methods:Patients with endometrial lesions who underwent transvaginal ultrasound examination in Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University from January 2019 to November 2021 were selected.Pathological diagnosis after surgery was used as the gold standard, and endometrial lesions were divided into a benign group(including endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial polyps)and a malignant group(endometrial cancer)according to surgical pathology results.Endometrial thickness and Doppler flow parameters were compared between the benign group and the malignant group. The chi-square test was used to compare the echogenicity, the presence or absence of cystic areas, the integrity of the endometrial-myometrial junction, the blood flow score, and the blood supply vessels between the benign and malignant groups.A prediction model was established according to the ultrasonic characteristics. Results:A total of 136 participants received surgery at our hospital with definitive pathological diagnoses, including 72 patients in the benign group and 64 patients in the malignant group.Peak systolic velocity(PSV) and end diastolic velocity(EDV) in malignant lesions were higher than those in benign lesions[(28.75±14.66)cm/s vs.(22.94±13.62)cm/s, (14.75±8.10)cm/s vs.(11.56±6.21)cm/s]. The thickness of malignant lesions was significantly greater than that of benign lesions[(19.31±8.97)mm vs.10.14±4.31)mm], and the blood flow resistance index was lower than that of benign lesions(14.75±8.10 vs.11.56±6.21). The differences were statistically significant( t=2.393, 2.597, 7.452, 2.028, all P<0.05). The prediction model was established based on the above ultrasonic characteristics. The area under the ROC curve for ultrasound physicians to diagnose benign and malignant endometrial lesions was 0.905( P<0.001), indicating that the prediction model had high diagnostic value. Conclusions:Both benign and malignant endometrial lesions in postmenopausal women have different ultrasonic characteristics.Malignant lesions tend to have a larger lesion thickness, an interrupted or irregular endometrial-myometrial junction, higher blood flow signal scores, and multiple blood supply patterns. The ultrasonic prediction model has high diagnostic value for benign and malignant endometrial lesions.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the outcomes of children with Phenylketonuria(PKU)detected by newborn screening program. Methods One hundred and two children with PKU were detected and diagnosed in Shanxi Newborn Screening Center from June 2004 to September 2014.All children with PKU were followed up until December 2015.During the follow-up,the Phenylalanine(Phe)levels, physical and intellectual development, nutrition status of those children were monitored. Results Among 102 PKU children, there were 96(94.12%)with normal physical development, and 93(91.18%)with normal DQ/IQ.The average DQ or IQ score in children who started the therapy before 1 month was higher than that in those who started after 1 month old(93.07 ±9.50 vs.87.39 ±10.99,t=3.09, P=0.00).Among these children 82.47%(80/97)had zinc deficiency and 31.46%(28/89)had dyslipidemia; and the normal Phe concentration rate was(59.73 ±19.03)%.The intellectual development level was negatively correlated with the age of starting therapy(r=-0.25, P=0.01), positively correlated with the education levels of his/her father(r=0.21,P=0.03)and mother(r=0.23, P=0.02).And the intellectual development was better in urban areas than that in rural areas. Conclusions With the standardized treatment, the physical and intellectual development of children with PKU can basically reach normal levels, and the earlier treatment can make better therapeutic effect.

RESUMO

Objective To study the associations between neo-adjuvant chemotherapy (NACT)sensitivity and expression of relative proliferation and apoptosis genes in cervical cancer tissues. Furthermore, the potential roles of relative genes expression as monitor in the chemotherapy against cervical cancer tissues were studied. Methods Fifteen pathologically proved Ⅱ A stage cervical cancer patients with HPV 16 positive were divided into effective group and non-effective group according to the clinical response to NACT, the changes of HPV16-E6, p53 genes and proteins expressions were measured by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot. At the same time, MTT assay was used to detected proliferative activity to paclitaxel liposome and carboplatin (paraplatin) in HeLa cells. Results In effective group, the overall response rate was 73.3 % (11/15) and the HPV16-E6 mRNA and protein level after NACT was significantly decreased than that before NACT (t=3.359, t=3.614, P<0.05), while p53mRNA and protein level increased significantly (t =5.852, t=2.838, P <0.05). However, there have no significant different between pre-NACT and Post-NACT of the two genes in the non-effective group. After using chemotherapy HeLa cells growth decreased. Conclusion HPV16-E6 and p53 expreesion level are useful paraneters in evaluating NACT response in cervical cancer tissues. The detection of the two genes expression is a method for predicting efficacy in NACT.
