RESUMO

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) defines shift work as any arrangement of daily working hours other than the standard daylight hours (typically 7:00/8:00 am–5:00/6:00 pm). To meet the needs of rapid socioeconomic development, shift work is becoming more and more common. The impact of shift work, especially night shift work, on human health cannot be ignored. Female's health is not only important to the well-being of themselves, but also has a far-reaching impact on their children and even their entire family. Increasing epidemiological studies have focused on the effects of night shift work on female's reproductive health. This article reviewed epidemiological evidence of the associations between night shift work and reproductive outcomes, e.g. menstrual cycle, endometriosis, pregnancy rate, adverse pregnancy outcomes, and ovarian cancer. The potential biological mechanisms connecting night shift work to female reproductive health were also introduced, e.g. melatonin regulation, clock gene regulation, and sex hormone regulation. Through this review, we propose to provide a reference for determining occupational risk factors, conducting subsequent relevant studies, and formulating rational health promotion strategies.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the potential application of targeting at vascular endothelial growh factor (VEGF) induced apoptosis in leukemic cell lines by combined use of Bevacizumab and chemotherapeutic drug. Methods Leukemic cells were treated with several drugs at different concentrations in culture. The effect of VEGF, Bevacizumab and co-treated with Ara-C on leukemic cells proliferation were evaluated by CCK-8 and apoptosis and cell cycle were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). Results VEGF could enhance the proliferation of leukemic cells and caused a dose-dependent manner on U937 cell. It also increased the percentage of cells in S phase, tested by, and Bevacizumab group was decreased. Apoptotic rate of cells treated with Bevacizumab or co-treated with Bevacizumab and Ara-C for 48 h were significantly higher when compared with control or Ara-C group, respectively (P0.05). There was no significant difference in apoptotic rate between control and combined use of VEGF, Bevacizumab and Ara-C group(P>0.05). Conclusion VEGF could enhance the proliferation of some leukemic cells, and may contribute to leukemic cells survival and a resultant resistance to chemotherapy-triggered cell death. The study also showed that leukemic cells growth was significantly inhibited by Bevacizumab through directly against VEGF, and the sensitivity of leukemic cells for chemotherapeutic drug was increased.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE To investigate hand hygiene of healthcare workers in burn ward in our hospital and provide scientific basis for the effective prevention and control of hospital infection in burn ward.METHODS Selected randomly 30 healthcare workers in burn ward and sampled from hands for bacterial culture.RESULTS The average colony of hand pathogens of the 30 healthcare workers was 105.42 CFU/cm2,the maximam was 1093 CFU/cm2.Among the hand pathogens,40.91% were Bacillus subtilis,36.36% were micrococcus and 13.64% were Staphylococcus aureus.CONCLUSIONS Hand hygiene of healthcare workers are not optimistic in burn ward.Strengthening the education of hand hygiene and raising the executable rate of hand hygiene are important measures to prevent and control the hospital infection in burn ward.
